Totally Awesome Grill
LOVE this grill - did a lot of research prior to our purchase and then looked at a few in-store. Overall, compared to the other items we looked at, this CharBroil grill was sturdy and durable. Emmett @ the Home Depot, Overland, was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions - we had a GREAT experience with customer service. I will say that assembly was rather difficult, it took several hours as none of the parts were labelled at all! The assembly guide showed pictures of each item, but determining which was which was slightly frustrating, as there were so many parts that the guide goes through the alphabet twice (AA, BB, CC etc bc they ran out of letters!) However, all of the parts were in-tact and functional. After we got it assembled, operation is a breeze and we have used it numerous times with great success - cooks evenly and thoroughly. Others reviews noted that it did not get hot enough, but we haven't had that problem at all, and it's been in use for 6 months now. Overall, I would absolutely buy this grill again and am totally satisfied with the product - only gave it four stars, though, because of assembly.

Best bang for your buck, imo.
If you're going to pay full price for a grill, this is the best one for your dollar. Get a grill cover and it will last you many seasons. I will buy this again if it is still on sale when mine breaks.

Char Broil reliabiliy
Grill was easy to assemble, lights easily and cooks food evenly without burning even on high flame. Best to leave grill in one place and cover. It does not move well, the front panel comes off easily.

Grillin' and chillin'
I'm a 50+ female and I assembled it myself easily. It works great, the only thing I would add is there are no hooks for hanging utensils - a minor quibble.

Would Recommend this Grille
Just bought this for my son and daughter-in-law. Son reports he had no problem assembling and bringing the temperature up to the maximum 700 degrees in about 10 minutes from a cold start on a 70 degree day. A snap to build, all the screws are pre-installed, just slide panels in place and tighten them up. Fully assembled top 4-burner unit drops into the top. CharBroil nailed it with ease of installation. Looks great, cooks great. Excellent value for the money.

Great Value
Bought this grill to replace a Kenmore that was becoming a money pit. After getting my shipment for the Char-Broil 3 burner lost by UPS, Home Depot customer service refunded my money, gave me an extra $20 and 10% of my replacement order. Upgraded to this model and picked up same day in store. Simple to put together if you can read directions. Use an impact driver instead of a screwdriver it will make things easier. Took around an hour to complete by myself could have done it quicker but made sure things were done perfectly. Broke the grill in with 4 steaks, 2 pans of potatoes and a full pan of veggies and all fit with room to spare. Side burner came in handy to cook some onions. Wish it was a little more sturdier, but I can deal with that since it isn't moved often. Live near the ocean and salt water air does a number on grill so looking to get a few years out of this model. For the $$ this grill is well worth it.

Great so far!
Looks great, functions well. Side burner is great too. I like the porcelain grate, the electric lighter works great, and knobs feel durable and have a nice weight to them. All the features you need, none that you don't.

Ok grill for the money!
I purchased this grill at Home Depot last year, (2012) and have used it quite a bit. It does what it's supposed to do, grill food. The only real gripe I have is unless at least 3 of the 4 burners are lit, it's difficult to get it hot enough to do a good job of grilling. When I have only of couple of burgers, or sausages, or a single steak to cook, it can be very slow to get things done. I end up lighting all the burners most of the time, which uses a lot of propane.

Oh ye of little faith
Purchased this grill based on the cost to replace a Weber that was given as a gift to me 14 years ago. I read the reviews and was skeptical but, you can't believe disgruntled customers, could be because of a lack of experience with a grill. Most complaints were the grill barely gets hot while cooking, well to calm that issue, ALL grills will lose heat while cooking. I had no problem cooking a tri tip roast in the grill. The grill easily heated up to 600 degrees and when the tri tip was placed on the grill dropped to the recommended cooking temperature of 450. Using a thermometer, I checked the side of the grill where there were claims of "heat loss" (where the optional rotisserie attachment goes) and found that the heat on either side remained at 600 degrees, while the tri tip was cooking at a constant 450 degrees. The control knobs were set at the pictured "low" setting and maintained a constant 450 degrees. The wind kicked up a little and I had to raise the heat a tad, but continued cooking with no problem. The construction of the grill "is what it is", if you want something better constructed, then buy something more expensive. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". So don't believe all that you read, pictures tell the story soooo much better. Check out the pictures attached and you will become a believer. 3.5 pound tri tip, 450 degrees for one hour. This grill is exclusive to Home Depot and for the price, you won't be disappointed..... as long as you know how to grill that is.

Ready to rock and roll
Bought this grill for My birthday. Online ordering was easy. Pickup was easy. Grill is a snap to use. The grilling area is substantial and has plenty of room for steaks, chops, etc. Have had a BBQ every weekend since I got it!

Hardly suitable for cooking hotdogs
Having previously owned a Char-Broil grill, I bought this model because its was less expensive than replacing the rotted out grates and burners on my old grill. Boy am I disappointed in what I got for my money. The heat the burners put out on this grill is far below average and will barely sear meat, even after 25 minutes of preheating the grill. If you don't mind waiting 30 minutes for a a 10oz steak to cook medium-rare then this grill might be for you, but as a seasoned cook for over 25 years it just makes me angry! I figured there must be a defect with the grill and called Char-Broil for help to to solve the issue. Their customer service people are great at being friendly and reading the scripted answers to your questions, but didn't actually take time to listen to the problems that I had described. Suggestions of cleaning the burners and buying another new gas tank to try for a brand new grill were ridiculous. Want to feel like a stupid and unappreciated consumer, call these guys! They'll be quick to answer the phone, but are far from being problem solvers. Yes, this grill will heat to 400' with the top down given time, but heat rises and the thermostat is built into the top. At the grate level I can hold my hand over the heat for almost a minute with no burn. On a real grill I dare you to do this for even 5-10 seconds. Cooking hamburgers? You'll be better off using the side burner and a frying pan then attempting this simple task on the grill. It just doesn't get hot enough on the cooking grate to cook anything the way you should be able to cook on a grill! If you want a $200.00 toy that looks nice but doesn't cook worth beans, then I recommend this product. Otherwise I suggest you stay far away from this piece of junk and look at another manufacture who cares about their products, and their customers....

    Not a year round BBQ
This grill is poorly designed for year round use unless you are well protected from any wind. I was given this grill for Father's Day 2016 and this was my first winter season with it. After I experienced blow out on numerous occasions I had to construct a screen to protect the flame. Even with little wind the grill had a hard time getting above 350 F with all four burners on high. I live in Toronto, so I can't imagine how anyone further north would cope. During the summer and fall the grill worked great, but it is definitely not a four season grill.

      Sleek and attractive
Easy to assemble. I have already cooked on it a few times. Only negative is there is grease running down the front leg when cooking. I have checked assembly and position of the drip pan can't figure out how it's happening. Otherwise enjoy the grill very much.

      esay to assemble
Easy to assemble, even a 5 year could do it. The frame only had to be unfolded, all screws are already in place with blue thread lock applied. All parts fit perfectly and a very good price. The side rails are large making it very easy to move and the frill heats up very quickly.

Low heat level and uneven flow of gas
I'm disappointed that the grill does not heat to a hot enough temperature to grill most meats at the speed required. I can rarely get the gage to show at the grill level. The burners also seem to act like the gas is not flowing evening through the burners, like there is a breeze blowing. I've read many of the reviews and these issues seem to be a common theme with this grill.

We're sorry to hear this. Is the grill facing directly into the wind or has the regulator been reset? If the grill is turned on or off incorrectly it can cause the safety device in the regulator to trip. This will cause a low flow and the regulator will need to be reset. This is an easy procedure that involves unhooking the regulator from the propane tank for a minute and then reattaching and following the lighting instructions on your grill. Make sure that when your grill is turned off that the grill is shut off first and then the propane tank. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.
          Worst grill I've ever owned....
I purchased one of these brand-new last year. I usually get a new grill every-other year. After poor performance with my last Char-broil grill, a bought another after a few years. Big mistake.. Poor performance right out of the box. Uses a lot of gas since you have to use all 4 burners to get any kind of heat. Takes forever to grill. Not suitable for parties or grilling foods quickly. Forget about searing... Cheap grill, but spend your money elsewhere for something that is worth it.

Don't make them like they used too.....
No missing parts, easy to assemble, took maybe a hour. Sheet metal material pretty thin. Several pieces bent new out of the box, but easily straightened because of thin material. I bought this grill to replace one I've had since 1998. They sure don't make them like they used to. Good thing I bought it on clearance, got $80 off original list and still feel like I paid too much though. It did work fine on first lighting. Would recommend if can get it for clearance price.

                Good for the Price
I bought this grill about 2 years ago and the carry tube has rusted out. Very happy to see that it was a replaceable part and ordered it right away. We use this grill about 2-3 times a week and that has been our only issue.

                  Good grill for the Money
Bought it already assembled(no extra charge) got help to load it in my SUV, had to partially dis assemble it to get it to fit, propane line is kind of tight, could have been a few inches longer, fired right up, just have to get use to cooking over flame, big difference from using a lava rock system. the old one was smaller with 4 swivels, this one is a little heavy to maneuver with just 2 wheels,

This grill exceeded my expectations. I bought it already assembled which was a plus for me, all I had to do was hook up a propane tank and start grilling. Home Depot makes it easy with their pre-assembly. This is a great product at s great price.
