I purchased this tape and it not pull clean like they advertised! it ruined some spots on my doors and now I have to repaint! I worked so hard taping up the areas of the door I wanted to paint in different colors. I worked very hard for this and it was ruined!

Literally the worst masking tape I've ever used should call it masochist tape because you'd have to be one to intentionally use it. When pulling the tape off it comes off in multiple tiny pieces, and the amount of bleed through on the edges is terrible. I'm going to have to literally repaint two walls because of it. Thanks for nothing

3M ScotchBlue Painter's Tape, at $6.58, is a must for clean paint lines. Its medium adhesive strength sticks well yet removes cleanly, leaving no residue for up to 14 days. The only thing worse than paying $8 for a roll of masking tape, is having that over priced masking tape tear off the paint it is supposed to protect, and let the new paint bleed under the tape. This stuff is junk.

What is going on with this tape? I taped off the floor so I can paint my trim and when I followed the manufactures recommended method of removal it took the finish off my floor.

Great tape for the job

I spent an extremely long time taping my entire house just for this tape to rip off the original paint and let the paint bleed through. It also left paint behind. We really want to move into our new house and this set us back.

I bought this recently and it stained the carpet and ripped the paint off the trim in patches!!

Easy to use and sturdy

If you buy this after reading this review then it’s on you. Absolute garbage. Not only did it rip paint off the wall but it ripped the top layer off the drywall. And it wasn’t fresh paint! I just put it on to caulk a line and take off!

I bought this to tape off trim on multiple furniture pieces i needed to paint. I taped, primed, then painted two coats on each piece. When I began removing the tape, I noticed a harsh line as well as wood stain coming off on the tape. I left it on less than 48 hours TOTAL, which doesn’t seem like an unrealistic period of time. I’m beyond unimpressed and wholly dissatisfied with this product… after putting 60+ hours into sanding and prepping and staining and painting this is unacceptable. If I was able to leave ZERO stars, I would! Never again!!!!!

Needed to paint corner round after putting in new flooring. Used Frog tape for all the trim work and that tape never let any paint bleed through. Because this was on the flooring I figured I would use the blue tape and what a mistake. Three rooms masked off and all had paint bleed underneath the tape. I ensured it was secure to the flooring but to no avail. Spent hours scraping paint. This tape is a nightmare removing from the flooring. It tears, leaves little blue tape slivers of tape.

Terrible description on product. Taped off 317 feet on ceiling. Pulled off next day. Took existing paint off with it. Trash.

Behr the only paint to buy!

I recently painted over a wall that was very brightly colored. It took 3 coats of primer to cover it, then I followed with two coats of paint. I allowed proper drying time on all coats, and allowed it to cure at low humidity for a few days before moving on to the next wall. I taped up the cured wall to paint the next one, and when I removed the tape it pulled off the coats of paint and the primer to reveal the original color! This has put me behind in my project, and has created significantly more work for me. Next time I will buy something better quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this product for free by 3M to review. I needed to do some drywall touchup, then paint over it. I put up some of this tape then did a couple layers of mortar, then a couple layers of paint. I had a great piece of mind knowing this tape would keep the other surface clean. After everything was dried this came off pretty easily. Overall it made the job much easier and quicker.

This tape is very useful for protect wall and furniture we use this in all our projects.

Supposed to not stick that's why it's painters tape next time I will buy the much cheaper masking tape I will never recommend or use this tape again

Had this giving to me to use at work on a painting project, Let me say I wound NEVER BUY nor recommend this product as it rips apart in splinter like fashion making tape removel a total nightmare! This is a product I would expect to find in some discount store let alone have what I thought was a good company in 3M!? Totally disappointed in how your product did not meet my expectations.

May be the one of the worst painters tape I have used. Reno'd a whole house with tape I had from a previous project, no issues. Ran out of tape so I picked up some of this stuff for painting doors and trim. The tape did not protect the flooring or the hinges on the doors. Will be spending the next day or two scraping excess paint off the surfaces this tape was supposed to protect.

What a terrible product. Painted my 3rd floor. Used two coats of primer and two coats of paint (Ben. Moore). Let the ceiling dry for several days before taping it and painting the walls. Tape wasn’t up for more than 5 days. Every single piece of tape pulled ceiling paint off when removed. Instead of being done with my paint job, I have to go skim an edge around the ceiling, than prime and paint it again. I would have been better off using no tape - it would have wasted less of my time and money.

Incredibly sufficient for painting

Using the Scotch blue tape while painting our dining room made cutting in so much easier. After painting while removing the tape I found the tape to pull off easy and left clean crisp lines. I use this tape all the time while laying out patterns on our walls to hang pictures or shelves. I can make my level marks and drill patterns without leaving pencil marks on the walls and it pulls off easy without damage.

Excellent tape to use on painted surfaces when you dont want to rip the paint off afterwards. Also used it to seal around our one door when we had cold air blowing in from outside. It did the job and we were able to remove the tap when it warmed up outside without any damage to the painted door frame.

Quite literally the worst tape I’ve ever used. Painted the trim and taped up our floors, tape ripped the paint right off when removing it from the floor. Very disappointed

Did not protect my porcelain sink from paint. Bled through so many areas. Terrible tape.

By trying to save a little bit of money. I purchased his tape to paint my trim myself after hiring a professional to do the walls in my house. They were painted and possibly 30 days before I ever applied the tape to make sure that the paint had cured well enough. After approximately 3 days of painting my trim that I'd use the tape to achieve fine lines on I began removing it only to find that it was pulling the paint back off the walls that I just paid someone to do. I'm highly disappointed it would not recommend this for anyone.

Excellent tape, no fuss and gets the job done ✅

When I peeled it off the wall after i finished painting, it the paint off of the wall that I was trying to protect. It happened twice in two different rooms. I never had this happened before. Both rooms have satine paint, so it may have something to do with the type of paint in the wall. If you buy it, I suggested to be careful when you peel it and I wouldn't use it in a satine paint.
