I replaced the old hose bibbs (more than 30 years old) with SharkBite Washing Machine Outlet Box. After cutting out the drywall for exact size, I installed the Outlet box without any problems. It works great as other SB valves in our house.

Disappointing for Shark Bite
Limited words here so can't explain all that's wrong. You have to remove valves and reassemble which results in the valves rounding the plastic because of the poor knockouts. Adapter necessary for the drain (2" instead of standard 1 1/2").

Exactly was I was looking for
This is really easy to install. The sharkbite connectors made it really easy to install new PEX lines.

My old outlet box was replaced with this one that contained the hot and cold water connections. My old connections were leaking and corroded. Because I didn't want to try to install this myself, I used a professional plumber. He had to cut out a section of the drywall and sever the old water pipes before he could install the outlet box. The simple part was putting the drywall back and spackling up the section and reconnecting the washer with new lines. The push to connect made the setup easier...but getting to that point was the difficult part. Unless you're a pro, hire somebody that is.

This is a low-quality product that takes more time to install than conventional washer boxes, since it is pre-assembled in a configuration that works in only some applications, and the knockouts for the drain are not easily knocked out but instead should be carefully drilled out with a hole saw to avoid damage to the thin plastic box. Typically a washer box has the drain in the middle between well-spaced valves, but not this product. A better solution might be to use a conventional washer box with SharkBite connectors to the shutoff valves if SharkBite connections are required.

our washing machine and dryer are located in the garage and we recently decided to move the location of them closer to the garage side door to help with access when a car is parked inside. I decided to use the Sharkbite brass washing machine outlet box to make installation easier and to recess the connections as to give a little more space between the washing machine and the car. the outlet box comes with brackets to mount it to the studs (i would have liked metal brackets instead of plastic) and ran PEX water lines from the original location to the outlet box, the line slipped in perfect with no leaks. I used PVC drain line from the old drain connection to the outlet box and it fit right in.looks nice, time to hook up the washing machine!

This is a well-conceived product which will work in many installation configurations. The simple push-to-connect sharkbite connectors work with 1/2" copper or "pex" supply lines, and the 1/4 shut-off valves are easy to operate. What makes this product even better is the flexibility to have the inlet pipes and the drain outlet arranged in any configuration. As shown on the packaging, the drain outlet has knock-outs for three different locations - left, center, or right . It would even allow for the supply lines to come in from the top.

This is going into the out building laundry room when construction starts back after the virus is gone. The out building is going to be made into a guest house. I have one like this in the house. They are not new to me. Though the SHARK BITE is somewhat easy to install I sill would suggest using a plumber. I am a plumber so it is no problem to me. I would suggest the person doing the drywall also install it.

This is a review for the Sharkbite washing machine outlet box.  The valves have a ½” connection. I do not have PEX piping for my washing machine connections but I do have 1/2” CPVC piping and was able to easily connect it to the valves. The outlet box came with the hot and cold valves, 2 support brackets and a faceplate cover. There are 2 bottom knockouts 1 on each side of the valves for the drain. The one problem I encountered was my existing drain is located between the hot and cold piping, but  with this Sharkbite setup all I had to do was remove the valves, flip the box over and pop out the 3 knockout holes,  2 for the valves, and the middle one for the drain. The instructions are only 1 page but they are very detailed and explain the installation clearly. Overall this is a great product!

Quick and easy is the best way to describe this washing machine outlet. Because of the 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect line connections and the snap in nailing straps all you need is a place to put it and you are finished. All you need for tools are a hammer or a screw gun and in seconds your box is install. It has a clean finish with the push in trim frame and brass color coded valves. In my case it can also be used upside-down for feed lines that are coming from the ceiling. I hope this helps with your decision. Good luck with all your projects.

This Washing Machine Outlet Box made by SharkBite is used for remodel or new construction. Its recessed design incorporates two quarter turn SharkBite shut off valves and a drain connection point. The valves are easy to connect without any solder required, they are push to connect. The SharkBite water line connections can accommodate Copper, CPVC or Pex. The plastic box is designed so both valves and drain can be configured in a number of configurations (drain or valves on left, right or center). The box comes with a snap in place trim plate that will fit up to ¾” drywall.

The Sharkbite 1/2 inch push-to-connect by 3/4 inch MHT Brass washing machine outlet box is a perfect upgrade and replacement for my existing valves. It has multiple valve and drain options. It will work for remodel and new construction. Box can be mounted to left or right of stud bay. Snap-on face plate accommodates up to 3/4 in drywall. Rough opening 5-3/4” W x 6-1/8” H x 3-3/4” D. The installation is straight forward if the pipes all line up otherwise a little tricky. It work out for me. Overall great product.

I picked up this washer quick connect kit for a new house that I’ll be purchasing later this year. I like the clean look of this type of installation and should be more reliable than your standard valve type installation. What’s great about this shut off installation kit for a washer is that it has ball valves and not your typical gate valves. Definitely a more reliable set up

If you are remodeling or installing a washer hook up you need to use this outlet box. I remodeled a laundry room recently and I wasn't sure of my final design. This box was perfect for what I needed because I could move the final location of the box. The supply line valves are 1/4 turn. You can install and remove the supply lines from the box. It is adjustable between your studs with the mounting wings and it has a great easy to use trim cover. Your drywall installation does not have to be perfect. I won't use anything else.

The SHARKBITE 1/2 IN. PUSH-TO-CONNECT X 3/4 IN. MHT BRASS WASHING MACHINE OUTLET BOX is well built and very easy to install. The shark bite connections make it extremely easy to connect the water supply lines, I used PEX and it made it very easy to replace the existing copper lines I had in my installation. My installation was a laundry room on the first floor with easy access to the basement.

What a great product...I am going to use it to retrofit/ replace a 30 year old rusted out, and super ugly outlet box that I have in my 1983 year old home. This box will be easy, but I am doing a change out, so it is harder than a new install. I will hire someone as it may be to hard for me. The shark bite attachments will make this so much easier, so no need for pipe welding....yeah! The drain in the center can be done by flipping the unit over and popping out 3 pre set plastic "pop out's"....it comes the way you see it...but often drains are in the center....so no big deal...it does middle and the side drain....great product.

Here's a thing that you will need at least once in every house you ever build. Since we build lots of ThinHaus models, we go through a lot of these ... and they work great, easy to install and do exactly what they are supposed to do. The added advantage of this version is flexibility. You can put the pipes in multiple ways and that's a good thing. Go with this and your plumbing life gets easier.

The washing machine outlet box was well packed and arrived in good condition. The fittings are brass and are easy to connect to the water lines. The location of the outlet water hose can be varied as needed. I liked the sturdiness of the unit. The mounting brackets are adjustable to provide a solid installation It is well designed and quality construction. T

    poor quality control during manufactering.
Like another reviewer(read reviews just now) my unit also leaked at the valve. We installed unit pressured tested it and no leaks. Finished off the wall. During the first wash water started to spray out the bottom of the valve. No choice, opened up wall to gain access. water would leak out of the valve were an "O" ring was sticking out. We took valve apart to find the "O" ring had been pinched between the threads during the manufacturing process. Tried several times to reseat the "O" ring with no luck. Went back to Home depot, well we looked at 4 boxes and found 1 that we could not see the "O" rings the others, the "O" rings were quite visible. One it was half way out.. Well it was either purchase another box and try to remove the installed one without causing more damage to the copper tubing in the wall to remove the box or try new "O" rings. Well "O" ring it was. After several tries( warming the ring, coating it with pet.). We were sucuessful. It appears that were the "O" ring should seat is not large enough to hold it in place. When one tires to thread the assembly together it wants to push the "O" out onto the threads. It looks like a poor design. Well its done with no leaks. Right now I am worry that it will begin to leak down the road. I do not know if I should refinish the wall or not at this point. Maybe I should just pull everything out( I do not think home Depot will take the old one back now) and install a standard washer water supply box to be safe. It just all the rework that I am doing and will have to do because the Shark Bite company has poor quality control on some of their products. All the other products appear to work just fine. Very disappointed with Shark Bite on this product. Should have read reviews on this! I would highly recommeand not to buy this product until the company fixes this design flaw.

Don't buy if your configuration isn't as shown.
I never do this, but am livid at the moment. 3 trips to Home Depot, the last trip was to return this box. If you don't need a drain and the valves as shown in the picture are in the right place, you may be okay. Once you have to punch holes to open up other configurations, either a larger hole opens or you get a crack. The plastic is very cheap and not what I would expect from Shark Bite, since I like their other products. Instructions are horrible too! Garbage..
