Q:Will this be able to be added to a wall that has been extended (tiled) so the faceplate sits flush or will the box be too far forward, and if so are there spacers that can be used to allow for the extra thickness of the sheetrock & tile?

A:  Hold the upper valve with regular channel locking pliers. Grab the thickest part of the SharkBite with small Knipex pliers and rotate to loosen. Remove the SharkBite and then remove the thin clamping nut.

A:  This is a great example of a product manufactured in huge quantities and where spare parts are not available. Because of the cost of the whole thing, you can pretty much just buy another one, take the parts you need and keep the rest ... just in case.

Q:Which way to turn on. My machine does not fill with enough water

          Answer This Question

A:  That doesn't sound like a valve problem ... these are pretty simple faucets ... mostly on or off. Plus if the water pressure is low, it will fill, but it just takes extra time. This might be a washer problem and not a water line issue.

          by|Feb 4, 2021

A:  the valves do not control the amount of water in you washing machine. The amount of water in your machine is controlled by valves in your machine.

          by|Feb 4, 2021

A:  Position yourself directly in front of the outlet box, the valves will be in the off position when the lever is pointing to your left ( just as in the picture on The Home Depot website ). The valves will be fully open when the lever is turned to your right and at the same angle as when closed on the left. The levers also have the words "ON" and "OFF" cast into the face of the lever. If this dose not help with the flow issue, turn the valves off and remove the lines from the back of the washing machine and check the inlet where the lines are connected to see if there is any rust or debris clogging the screen in the inlet to the machine ( if it has a screen in the inlet ). Also using a bucket you can place the ends of the water lines that where attached at the washing machine side into the bucket and turn on the valves to check the water flow ( remember to hold the lines in the bucket so they do not come out when the valves are opened ).

Q:I have had the valve for a number of years. They are froze open. Can I safely use a pair of pliers to loosen the valve.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Probably, these are ball valves and should be relatively easy to free up. What is likely to happen though is the entire valve will tend to twist. Probably it would be advisable to grip the valve body with some channel lock pliers then use pliers to turn the valves. I would advise turning the valves off every time between uses. They are only good if closed when the washer valve or hose fails.
