A: I used this on my Mom's standard screen door to replace a worn out mechanism. The door was probably 30-40 years old. It seems like it has a universal type installation for many types of doors. It worked well for me.

A: Thank you for your interest in our V333BL Push Button Latch. Yes, the interior has a locking lever which has a built-in "no lock-out" feature that will automatically unlock the latch if accidentally locked while exiting.

This particular one only locks from the inside. There is a similar one that locks from both directions costing a little more. The outside requires a key (provided).

Q:What does it mean if the push button is really hard to use and doesn't always release the inside latch? I believe I shortened the push bar to the right length.

A: It does sound like the spindle is one notch too long. Remove a notch and it should work properly.

A: it's possible the spring is installed backwards or the pushrod needs to be adjusted to the proper length. hope this helps.

A: I would use some matching sealant to cover the hole. Then mark the new hole and drill slightly smaller hole than new screw that's provided in the package..

A: The spindle hole is located in the middle of the top and bottom screw holes. The spindle hole is 7/8" from the top hole and 7/8" from the bottom hole. The bottom of the outside handle is approximately 1/2 inch. Have a great day!
