Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out, Cris! Bare wood or coated surfaces can become slippery when wet. Caution is needed when walking on a wet surface. Please keep in mind, Rust-Oleum Wolman F&P Finish and Preservative needs to be applied to bare wood. The previous stain does need to be removed.

Answer This Question
A: We appreciate your interest, Lou. The longevity of the Rust-Oleum Wolman F&P Finish will depend on many factors such as the weather patterns, the quality of the surface prep and application, and more, so it is difficult to provide a definitive window of how long it will last. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

Q:So, how are these marked as transparent but yet there are multiple skus with different colors like natural, cedar, etc? I want to put this on white cedar fencing and need the least amount of color added. I asked a question in the other Wolman product about preventing greying of cedar and was pointed to this line of product. Which one of these is the lightest?

Answer This Question
A: Happy to clear things up! Rust-Oleum Wolman F&P Wood Finish and Preservative is a rich oil base transparent stain that imparts a slight color tone that shows most wood grain. At this time, we do not offer a clear wood finish that will prevent natural graying of exterior wood.

A: Thank you for your response, Polly. The reason online products are sold by the case is for shipping purposes. In many instances, including this one with Rust-Oleum Wolman F&P, items must be shipped by case quantities. For this reason, when purchasing items online, they must be purchased in this way. For individual cans, we recommend visiting your local Home Depot store to see if they have the product in stock. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

Q:Is this product a watery consistency? I need something that sinks into a fence and does not create a coating. Wolman discontinued a previous product that I used years ago that I'm trying to duplicate.

A: It is a oil base which soaks off into the wood. If you are installing a new fence wait at least 30 days before treating.

Q:Did this F&P product replace something I used called "Wolman Pressure Treated Wood Deck Stain with water repellant? I would like to find something close to the "Autumn Brown" that was available years ago. It was a paint thinner clean up. It was a more watery type stain that sinks into the wood rather than sit on the surface. Thank you

A: Thank you for reaching out. Rust-Oleum Wolman F&P will beautify and protect new or weathered wood from rot and decay due to mold, mildew, premature graying from UV exposure, and water damage caused by moisture absorption. If you're looking for a clear water repellent sealer, then you may be interested in the Rust-Oleum Wolman RainCoat.

A: Thank you for reaching out! Our Wolman F&P Finish and Preservative penetrates into the wood, providing water-resistance and protection, however, it will not create a film or slippery surface on top of the wood when applied properly. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2
