A: Thanks for the question! Although we have seen this done, we have not independently tested and verified best method or security of attachment so we unfortunately do not have a recommendations for this specific installation at this time.

A: Theoretically that could work however we cannot answer as we've never experimented with this application.

A: I would not recommend attaching to a refrigerator. It does an excellent job of securely hanging tools.
by|Aug 23, 2022
A: No. The item itself is very heavy.

A: I have never tried to hang it on a fridge, but based on its weight when I hung it on the wall, I would suggest it would not work. I love my pegboard however. It works great in my workshop.

A: It could be attached to a refrigerator however, it would stand off about 3/4".

A: The panel weighs 7 pounds. It would probably slide down the side of the refrigerator, unless you used REALLY STRONG magnets. And remember that the flat portion of the panel stands off the surface about 1/2" and there is a small flange for attaching it with screws. That is all that touches the wall or surface that you are attaching the panel to.

Q:I'm interested in using this as a hanger for kitchen utensils and pots. Is the base material and any optional coatings food safe? I just don't want my kitchen tools to come into contact with something toxic, which eventually gets into my food.
Thanks!

A: Thanks for the question! The answer is actually No and Yes, the round traditional pegboard holes in the panels will still accept round pegboard pegs as the round holes are on 1in centers in either direction both vertically and horizontally. However, you would not be able to use any Wall Control slotted accessories as Wall Control accessories require the slots in these panels to be vertical. In short, if you turn vertical panels horizontally, or vice-versa, you will simply have ‘traditional’ round-hole metal pegboard without the option of Wall Control’s slotted shelves and accessories.

A: Yes, the spacing is the same distance in between the holes in either direction.

A: Yes, they can be mounted in either direction.

A: The hooks are painted stamped steel. Snapped into the slots in the panels the "hooky" part won't be facing up. The panels also have round holes and these holes will fit panelboard hooks, but they're not as solidly snapped into the panels.

A: I use it for what it was likely made for; -to hang hand tools. But hanging jewelry would be a clever idea. Maybe even make a very shallow wood frame for it to add some depth.

A: Thanks for the question! This unit includes #12 x 1-1/4" SMS Screws. That said, those are only included as a convenience so any comparable screw will work just fine as long as it is intended for the substrate you are installing into (ie. wood screws into wood, concrete screws into concrete, etc).

A: It depends what you are hanging the pegboards on. Wood studs behind drywall? Then you'll need wood screws. Concrete walls? Concrete screws. Home depot will have anything you'll need to finish hanging it.
I used 1 1/2" concrete screws. Btw, I love the metal pegboards.

Q:can they be installed horizontal?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, they can, but not recommended. These shelves are not purely pegboard. They also include vertical slits for stable mounting of shelves, bins, and tool holders. They would be useless if mounted horizontally.
by|May 20, 2020
A: Yes. Configure them to get your space.
by|Apr 27, 2020
A: No, the hooks will not work in the horizontal position. Only vertical. Great system, and very durable in the upright position.

A: You can install them either horizontally or vertically depending on where you want them. I love mine, I put them in my pantry and hang my pans on them so it saves a lot of cabinet space.
