A: I think you attach 2x4 pieces of wood to the wall with concrete screws, from which to hang these. You arrange the wood square on the wall to fit within the recess of each.
A: Any standard concrete anchor. You don’t need anything specialized.
A: I attached to standard wood studs. I have no experience with concrete.
A: Thanks for the question! We have found Tapcon brand screws to work great in this application.
A: I live in a concrete house and swear by Cobra TripleGrip (#8). Home Depot carries the kit that comes with the correct size drill bit, but you will definitely need a hammer drill for the job. I would go up a size if you are expecting heavy loads on the board. I installed the pegboards in my garage which is not concrete, but used the TripleGrips on the wallboard as they do a better job than any other sheetrock anchor I've used.
A: I would say no
A: No they are not flexible
A: No it won't bend.
A: In my opinion I'd say NO, these are galvanized steel and they are sturdy so bending them would not work well. On a flat wall they work great because they have a frame on the wall side so hooks will not gouge into the wall. I use mine in my pantry to hang kitchen tools and pans on - works great.
A: No, the edges are folded to give stiffness/rigidity which will no allow bending.
A: Thanks for the question! These panels are very rigid and not flexible at all. They cannot be bent for this purchase.
A: They were not manufactured with that intention. They are heavy metal with finished edges to create a small space as it sits on the wall. This makes it easy to attach the hanging accessories.
A: I wouldn't recommend you do that
A: Thank you for the question! However, Wall Control cannot "recommend" cutting the pegboards as it would void any warranty.
A: Yes if you have a metal cutting blade on a grinding tool. I cut my pegboard down to fit a 1 x 2 foot size and then use round tubing spacers as support when attaching the pegboard to the flat surface. This is not something I would recommend because it left some pretty sharp edges which I ground down but it fit my project.
A: Cat, these have a folded side all around that makes the panels rigid. If you cut them, you will have to re-enforce the side (s) you cut with wood or other metal to strengthen that side.
A: Yes I bought in October, I was delivered really quick! It took about less than a week.
A: Specific weight capacities depend upon quality of installation, substrate installed into, bracket or hook selection, weight distribution, actual load centers, and a whole host of other variables which make advertising specific and idealistic laboratory load ratings potentially misleading (be cautious of any brand that does this because this sort of advertising can be dangerous). That being said, our panels and brackets can hold a lot of weight when properly installed and used correctly. We offer panels, brackets, and shelves rigid and strong enough to support most heavy common storage items such as bicycles, ladders, sledge hammers and ironing boards just to name a few common applications.
A: It depends on what you’re hanging, but pegs are strong.
A: If you screw the peg board into a stud, it will hold until the stud fails. If you screw it into wallboard, not so miuch. I have 2 peg boards drilled into studs in the garage and I estimate each board has 25-30 pounds of weight hanging from them and no signs of possible failure yet. I used 3" screws and would not recommend screws under 2 1/2" These boards are easy to install and take a lot of usage.
A: I'm not sure, but it's quite a bit. If you get the right type of tool hooks, you can hang your heaviest tools on it.
A: Thank you for your question! The mounting screws included are (6) #12 x 1-1/4" per panel.
A: I don't believe that any mounting screws come with the panels.
A: ITS Galvanized Steel NOT REALLY SURE HOW IT WOULD HOLD UP OUTSIDE . BUT IM IN SC WE HAVE HIGH HUMIDITY AS WELL BUT USE MINE IN A GARAGE I WOULD THINK AS LONG AS IT IS NOT IN THE SUN BAKING IT IT WOULD BE OK
A: I would not recommend this product for use outside. Mike
A: They are galvanized well, so they will last quite a while, but not forever in Georgia humidity. I am using them indoors in a NON climate controlled south Florida workshop and there is no sign of corrosion after 5 years. Maybe the painted ones (if they are painted over galv) will provide even better protection for your application.
A: ours looks great in garage.
A: It is great looking and very useful, but I used it in my garage workshop and have no experience with outside use.
A: No mounting bracket is needed. We mounted it with screws and found the studs in the wall.
A: Hi Glen, the panels come with drywall anchors and screws. The mounts (corners and middle) are inset so the screw head will be on the inside of the panel. The panel is about 3/4” off the wall itself so it’s not flat. You shouldn’t need a bracket for this panel if you’re installing it against a flat surface.
A: oh glen you silly little boy..there are six holes for mounting each pegboard..one in each corner and one at each side ..you will see the holes to mount them..they come with the screws provided..if you are mounting them to a wall ,you need to screw them into something solid..so, pay attention glen..screw some three inch strips of wood to the wall making sure you screw it to the studs.one strip for the top screws, one strip for the middle screws, and one strip for the bottom screws..if you are hanging a few in a line, cut the strips to that length..when you screw the pegboard to the strips of wood, you will have a solid pegboard on the wall to hang anything heavy..
A: There are no brackets with.It has 6 holes through on every corner and middle long side.I used it for sliding tool shelf.
A: This unit comes with mounting hardware to attach the panels to studs or drywall. The unit does not come with hooks or accessories, this listing is only for the pegboards and what is needed to attach them to studs or drywall. These panels accept all Wall Control brand accessories as well as traditional 1/4" round pegboard pegs (we do not recommend using the thinner 1/8" pegs as those fit quite loose). Thank you for the question.
A: Nope, just galvanized metal. Nice peg board alternative.
A: Yes
A: Both the pegboard as well as the metal hangers/shelves are magnetic!! Looks amazing- sturdy-organized —- perfect
A: Magnets and magnetic accessories will stick to these boards.
A: no, magnets won't stick
A: Yes, magnetic objects will adhere to it.
A: Yes very strong magnetic. Excellent pegboard and very easy to hang.
A: Yes, this pegboard is magnetic.
A: A magnet will stick to it.
A: While the metal is attracted to magnets it does not act as a magnet. The steel pegboards are not a magnet.
A: Yes we hung ours both directions to go around a window. worked fine.
A: Yes, you can hang these horizontally. It may limit your use of the slots, but the peg holes are still usable.
A: Yes. They have screw holes to mount any way you'd like.
A: yes you can.
A: Yes. The only limitation is that you have to hang them so the slots are vertical. And then only if you are going to use the slots, if you are only using the round holes you can hang either way.
A: Pehaps a better solution would be to purchase 1"x2" furing strips, sold at Home Depot, mount those to your 48" wide studs then mount the panels to the strips. You can attach hooks to the extra over hand of the strips and store small items. HD also offers, online, two packs of the traditional hole pegboard in metal. I think they're a little cheaper. Hope this helps.
A: Usually studs are 16" center to center, so try Drilling a sample hole at 16. Use a really small bit, like 16th inch or so. If you are lucky, you sill find a stud and you will know because the bit will continue to hit wood past the thickness of the stud. If you don't hit a stud, try at 24" (midway) the same way. Since it is particle board, you will never notice the tiny test holes and especially wont if you cover them with pegboard. Good Luck :)
A: nick, unless you are planning to hang your overweight mother in law on the pegboard,i am sure a few screws will be able to hold the tools on it.btw, you should get a new measuring tape.i doubt if your studs are 4ft apart for the walls.
A: Reply to greatness1: I know the particle board was hung previously on studs and is 4 feet across, so i know studs are behind the seams between the particle board panels. But yeah it's possible there are studs closer together behind the particle board. My stud finder doesn't work on the particle board though, only drywall. So I thought I'd just ask here if anyone hung these on particle board without drywall mounts....it's either that or i hammer in nails every few inches to find other studs.
A: The wall is not framed with studs 48" apart. The wall panels are 48"wide and the edges are nailed into studs. Those particular studs are 48" apart, but there is either one more stud between them (if the studs are on 16" centers) or two studs between them (if the walls are on 24" centers). The building code has never allowed studs on 48" centers, although sheetrock and other wall panels are typically sold in 48" wide sheets. 48 is a multiple of both 16 and 24, so it all works out. That said, if the studs were hypothetically 48" apart horizontal furring strips would totally address the issue.
A: I would use toggle screws that open up behind the particle board, but the particle board will not hold as much weight as it would if you mounted into studs.
A: Maybe, these are sturdy panels but lightweight. I guess it would depend on how much weight you would have on them when they are fully loaded. I put them up on drywall in my kitchen to hold cooking utensils, so it wasn't a lot of weight. Used the drywall mounts as needed and studs. They can be mounted in either direction if that helps. I love them, they look really nice, and keep everything handy.
A: Yeah, the particle board should provide at least as much strength as drywall. I hung mine on drywall using anchors. I’ve no problems.
