A:  I don't know about St Louis because i live in Chicago Illinois as a former City of Chicago building inspector im sure the building code is different from the Chicago building code it won't hurt to check your local building code however this is an excellent screen i use it in one of my basement glass block window well i am very happy and satisfied with my purchase.

A:  HI, we would not know the answer those questions. You would need to get a screen at your home depot, bring it to the St. Louis county housing inspector and ask if they meet the re-occupancy code and if so Does every window require screen or is it just a window per room requirement. Then as long as the screen is not damaged it can be returned to the same home depot for a refund if you can not use it.

A:  I don't think so. The length is adjustable but the height isn't.

If you're there, one would usually find them in the windows and door sections usually down towards the end of the aisle, as most of my local Home Depots tend to stock these screens in that section. They store them vertically, so you may miss them if you pass by too quickly.

A:  So sorry, we are in Pa. However, you can order from Home Depot online and get the same price. But, keep in mind, we bought ours almost a year ago. They are good screens and have held up well.

A:  These are adjustable screens and do not come in exact sizes that you are looking for. This one has an overall height of 24 inches and will adjust out from 33 to 45 inches. You seem to be looking for framed exact screen sizes.

A:  Yes, I purchased this screen last year..This is the second year I am using this same screen. My original screen had a rip in it, I was going to repair it, but no time available.This was a great buy.

A:  There is no issue with the cat with the screen. I suggest to measure window sash to sash so the screen fits correct. Well made and sturdy. I actually bought them to protect land lord’s screens. So I am double screened.

A:  The screen material itself seems ok, my only problem is the cats pushing the screen out of the window. Luckily none of them have escaped, but I'm hesitant to use these by themselves with a large gap in the window.

A:  I felt like these screens were only good for use against insects. I don't believe they'll hold up to your cats claws...

A:  The window sits atop of the screen and holds the window in. It couldn’t be pushed out and the screen is sturdy. There are two cats in the household and there has not been a problem.

A:  I think it should be fine. The mesh is pretty sturdy.

A:  it is possible but the window opening must be exactly 15 inches wide and open to a minimum of 21 inches to fit.

A:  They probably wouldn't work too well vertically. The window's weight pushing down on them is what keeps them in place, and if the window pushed down on it when turned vertically it would just slide down to its smallest size. I guess if your window happened to be the same size as the fully compacted screen it would work, otherwise it wouldn't stay in place.

A:  I used them vertically, but I had to put a piece of tape on them or they would slide down.

A:  Not really. If you do flip them then the screen will be 21 x 15 in only.

A:  No, I don't believe that would work. The screens slide easily so it would fall open or closed.

A:  They are not adjustable height. The tallest is 24 inches

A:  The screen is made for a window that raises up. It has a height of 24 inches then you lower the window onto it. The width adjusts to the width of the window.

A:  yes they can be if you get the little nails out that hold the ends on. their are 2 , 1 at the top and bottom.

A:  I don’t think so one small pin and must be glued. Pin doesn’t go all the way through to the other outside of wood piece. See 3 photos showing both facing and back side and end.
