A:  You must buy the pallet but can return the items not used if they are in the unopened packages.

      A:  You can buy the pallet only however home depot will accept returns of unused portion of the product if in the original bags and unopened

        A:  From my experience, buy more than you need and return the unused. Just don't open the bags you don't plan to use. They should be able to divide the cost for the pallet by the number of bags to determine the cost per bag.

        A:  Yes. If you go online, there are several different combinations of insulation options available. As of a couple of months ago, you could purchase just a single bag.

              A:  Yes. This material is treated with borax, a naturally flame retardant mineral. It also repels insects. This is according to the official manufacturer's website.
