A:  Depending on what you mean by average. I used an orange three-pronged extension cord but is a heavier duty cord.

    A:  Thank you for your question. Use a polarized UL Listed extension cord recommended for outdoor use. For an Extension Cord length of 25 feet, use a Minimum Wire Gage (A.W.G.) of 16. For an Extension Cord length of 50 feet, use a Minimum Wire Gage (A.W.G.) of 16. For an Extension Cord length of 100 feet, use a Minimum Wire Gage of 14. For an Extension Cord length of 150 feet, use a Minimum Wire Gage of 12.

                              A:  They can be sharpened but it is difficult to judge the level of difficulty. Each tooth on the blade will need to be sharpened by hand while the blade is fully assembled. Do not take it apart.

                                          A:  The trimmer has a lock switch. To start the trimmer, slide the lock switch backwards, towards you, then squeeze the trigger switch to turn on the hedge trimmer. The trimmer will stay on as long as the trigger switch is squeezed. The lock-off switch may be released once hedge trimmer is running.                                             A:  No you have to keep your finger on the trigger as is the case with all newer trimmers. This an important safety feature.

                                                          A:  No it's not! Machine oil is like lightweight oil...like sewing machine oil. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and ask one of the nice folks in there to help you out. The nice people in my store know me by name, lol! They love to help people who want to LEARN! WD-40 is NOT an oil! It will work great for fixing a squeaky door hinge, or getting label glue off of something that's not plastic, like glass. But that's about it. :-)

                                                          A:  No it is not. I use the 3 in 1 household oil to lubricate this trimmer. It is also available at Home Depot and can be used for other things around your house.
