A:  No. The pendulum does not even swing because there is motor for it. But it serves my purpose well and is easy to read.

However, the horizontal swing distance is narrow, so the pendulum bangs against the walls, The noise could be less at just the most appropriate position, but to eliminate, you may consider sticking a cotton ball on either side inside the pendulum chamber to avoid the banging sound. Overall, its a reasonably priced decent looking pendulum clock. The sound of the hourly chime is loud! It does turn off at night past 10PM to 6AM, once you configure it right

A:  It is a very loud dong sounds. It actually sounds like my door bell. I had to take the battery for the chime out because every time it went off we thought someone was ringing our door bell. The backing is thin plastic and mine came broken upon delivery. I did not return it because it wasn’t visible.

A:  17 1/2 tall by 11 1/2 wide at top It is advertised as 18 1/2 by 11 1/2 but when received the box actually says its a 17in thought was the wrong clock but item# matches up. Kind of misleading the consumer into purchasing a smaller clock than advertised Beware of this.

A:  As soon as you insert batteries in the battery compartment above the sound box, press the small black button (set button) 1 time. As soon as you press the button the clock will chime 6 times and the clock is set to chime at 6:00 am. If you would rather the time for the first daily chime be later press and release the button until you obtain the hour desired. Remember the clock automatically skips chiming after 9:00 pm and does not resume until 6:00 am or the time you specify. 7:00 am- 1 press 8:00 am- 2 presses 9:00 am- 3 presses and so forth all the way to 8:pm with 14 presses on the button

A:  the directions that come with the clock give simple instructions of setting the chimes to match the correct time

A:  Set the clock to the correct time. Locate the chime button located under the lip at the far right side of the clock (viewed from the back). Press this button once, and the clock should chime six times, signifying that the clock thinks it is six o'clock. If it's eight o'clock, press the button two more times, or if it's eleven o'clock, press five times (from the original single press).

A:  No, it does not chime at night. It chimes at 10pm and then not again until 6am-which is a little early for me but I’m so used to it now that it doesn’t even wake me up.
