The fan has a built-in toggle switch with low-off-high positions, and it plugs in via a standard US power cord. If the fan is mounted in a location where it is not convenient to use the switch, a switched receptacle can be mounted to plug the fan into for remote operation. If all you want is single speed operation, you install an ordinary single pole 120v, 15A toggle switch. I was told by reps that the fan can also be controlled with an electronic speed controller, but as far as I know they do not recommend specific brands. Search for a small fan speed controller.

A: HD offers a 9x8" duct reducer that may work for this application. Search for mfg part number SM-RDP 98.
