Q:How far away should this be mounted from the furnace? The room that I want to boost has a crawlspace, but the furnace is in a basement. The run itself is maybe 20 feet from the furnace to the register. It I mounted it on basement side, I would be able to use the 2 speed control to regulate the temperature in the backroom . It will be hooked up to a Suncourt® Ductstat Temperature Sensitive Plug-in Switch ....

A: Your described installation will be right. Until the fan will not exceed the maximum operating temperature the installation is acceptable.
Your temperature control switch will also work with the fan.

Q:Can the fan be easily rewired for remote two speed operation via a SPDT wall switch?

Answer This Question
A: The Fan is fully speed-controllable. The manufacturer recommends not turning the speed control down more than 40% .
For wiring for the speed control, use separate outlet, which is controlled by the speed controller or hard-wire the product directly with the speed control. Speed Control is controlling the phase line directly.

A: I chose to set the fan on high and just wire the power plug to an on/off switch. I do not think that the low speed gives much of a boost and I plan to keep it set on high.

A: I wrote the original question, but bought the fan anyway assuming I could do the switching arrangement I wanted. I did not ask about a electronic speed controller, which was the answer I got. I asked about a SPDT switch. The answer is 'yes', it is easy to add a remote switch.

Q:is this fan reversible?

Answer This Question
A: No. It's designed for air flow in only one direction.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The inlet and outlet are significantly different from each other and hence you cannot reverse the output duct for the input. Next, the unit is powered by 110V AC and because it is Ac and not DC you cannot reverse electrical power.

A: This fan is above and beyond adaptable, you can actually unhook the center fan compartment from ductwork without touching a screwdriver or the duct. You unlatch top and bottom or sides and pull out fan and reinstall with arrow facing opposite direction and that would be reversed.
by|May 5, 2023
A: No. High and low speeds one way

A: No, the fan is not reversible.

A: No. It flows one way. It has low and high speeds. Not too noisy.

Q:Will this move warm air from one room to another about 30 feet.

Answer This Question
A: If your room is, for example, 10 feet square and 8 feet high, that's 800 cubic feet. The top CFM of any fan will be reducted as duct, elbows, grilles, etc are added to the line. But if the duct is a straight shot, the fan might push 400 CFM to the other room. That calculates to a room air change every 2 minutes. But expect lower results. Your rooms may be bigger and room air does not empty uniformly, but generally the answer is 'yes', this fan would likely work for your application

Q:do i have to have an inlet duct? i want to install a 14" x 14" box with 3 air filters directly at the inlet. im using this in my garage to ventilate thru the attic to the outide via 8" outlet duct work

Answer This Question
A: If you get a 14" square box fabricated with an 8" take off, and you have a rigid mounting point above the box to mount the fan to, your idea should work. This fan's inlet should slide right onto the 8" duct take off. But you would not have one of the advantages of an in-line fan, which is to move the fan noise further away from the air intake. But in a garage/shop environment, that may not be as strong of a consideration.
by|May 5, 2023
A: It is not necessary to have an inlet duct, the fan can be directly connected to the filter box .
