A: It is possible if your bathtub was notched into the studs and is hiding the flange of the bathtub. But the reason for having the backer is for the wall to sit inside of the flange.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, you can cut the TI-5 back panel to accommodate a window. This can easily be accomplished using a saber saw with a fine tooth carbide blade. We do manufacture a window trim kit, SSWTK, that can be used with this unit. You can purchase the window trim kit online or via special order in your local Home Depot store using Part No. TK03610.037 / Internet #202802723. Thank you for your interest in a Swan product for your bath remodel!

Q:I bought this product from Homedepot/Swan. I put up new water resistant (purple) drywall. I have primed it with Zinsser's Bulls Eye 123 primer. Confused about which tub surround adhesive to use. Contacted Swan because the HomeDepot sheet says that the Tub Wall comes with four tubes of 100 percent silicone adhesive. It does not. It came with none. I contacted Swan and they said that they no longer include the silicone adhesive with the kit because it drys out in their warehouse. Thus far...Swan said to use only 100 percent silicone....except not GE. The only 100 percent silicone "adhesive" product I have been able to find at HomeDepot is GE, but for tiny tubes and the installation guide for this tub wall calls for tubes you use a caulking gun to dispense. Not to mention those tiny tubes are very expensive. So, I cannot move forward with installing this Tub Wall unit until I am sure which tube adhesive is ok to use. Any list of proper available 100 percent silicone adhesives would be nice. I need to buy some, but don't know what to buy. For instance, will Loctite Power Grab for Tub Surrounds work? I'm stalled in this remodel until I know which products work.

Answer This Question
A: We recommend using 100% silicone adhesives/sealants that are approved for tub and shower surrounds (except GE). Although we can't specifically speak to Loctite or any other brand in particular, please read the label to verify the adhesive is approved for tub and shower surrounds and is approved for non-porous wall panels. Swan does offer Model #SS-29.010 / Internet #100098198 which can be used to install our tub and shower walls.

Q:I would have to add drywall in order to use this product. Once the drywall is installed and taped, does it need paint or anything? Or, should it be just the bare drywall?

Answer This Question
A: It is recommended a primer / sealer is used. First it is another layer of protection from water. Secondly, it allows the silicone to cure correctly so it does not dry out too quickly, possibly loosing its adhesion. Good luck with your project.

Q:I bought this surround and I like it, but I have glass doors that are 10 inches taller than my surround. Is it possible to get another matching section so I can follow my doors up? a 2 square by 6 square piece or 2 - 2 x 3 pieces would work?? An 8 inch by 24 inch piece or 2 - 8 inch by 12 inch?

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for purchasing the TI-5-010 shower wall kit. Swan does not offer extension pieces or single panels for this model. The only option appears to be replacing the shower doors. Good luck with your project.
