Q:Is this a good product for ocean front homes

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes if installed correctly according to the instructions.  I have 7 of them installed on an oceanfront home and they are great.  Also recommend coating the underside of the door frame itself with a rubber floor coating or other to protect that wood which will be somewhat exposed to wind driven rain/water.

      by|Jan 6, 2022

A:  Our products work well against wind driven rain, although we cannot guarantee that it will hold up against flooding. These sills will work just fine in ocean front homes.

                      Answer This Question

A:  Good afternoon, You are able to install directly onto a concrete slab. You will have to score the sill pan front lip down to desired front measurement. Here is a link on how to do so... https://www.suresill.com/installation/exterior-door-drain-detail/

                      by|Apr 28, 2021

A:  depending on how you attach the new threshold through the new sill pan. you should use a caulking that will aid in adhesion plus keep where the fasteners that break through the sure sill and you concrete that will be waterproof also.

                          Answer This Question

A:  No screws needed. There are 2 slots on the side for nailing, only 2 nails needed. The sill is held in place by caulking and supported by the nailing slots. I used the same size for the same application you are using for.

                          Answer This Question

A:  I purchased 2 SureSill products for 2 pairs of patio doors. Excellent product. I installed these myself as I am a DYI Owner/Builder. It is designed to help drain water away from the inside of the doorsill. Use a good sealant underneath the Suresill as you want to keep wind driven rain from coming under the door sill. That was a major concern as I have constant 40+ MPH winds when it does rain. This doorsill will not work with extremely heavy [1000 lb] custom wrought iron doors.
