Q:Could the DHC 5-2 work for two sinks in a bathroom?
by|Mar 28, 2018

Answer This Question
A: Using a point of us unit is an excellent idea. The DHC 5-2 is designed to run at 0.5 GPM with a temperature rise of 65 degrees over incoming water temperature. Depending on your incoming water temp, this maybe good for one sink running but not for 2 sinks at the same time. IF you want to run both sinks at the same time, you should look at the DHC E 8/10 as an option. Please call our Technical Department with any further questions at 1-800-582-8423 ext 6. Thank You.

A: I bought this to hear water for a small sink with limited used. It never got the water hot. At best it was warm. I don't now if it was the water pressure or if the incoming water was just too cold. I removed it an put in a small electric 4 Gallon tank system. Water is now hot and the tank was very easy to install. The tankless unit is now back in the box it came in put away in a storage closet. I may find another use for it, but it would have to very low pressure water use.

A: The DHC units are not recommended to install on a hot water line. They do not have an electronic thermostat meaning that this unit will take the incoming water, no matter what temperature and try to make it even hotter. This could lead to scalding temperatures. I would look at the DHC E 8/10 unit which does have an electronically controlled thermostat and will accept water up to 131 F. This thermostat can maintain a constant temperature or even turn the unit off depending on the hot water temperature desired when plumbed into a hot water line. Listen to make sure you hear the clicking noises too. IF nothing works, please call our Technical Department at 1-800-582-8423 ext 6 Thank you!
