Q:I planted new grass seed about a month ago, it?s spotty, so I wanted to use this to control weeds where the grass isn?t growing. Can this be applied to growing grass seed after about a month or two when the grass that has grown is a few inches tall?

A: You shouldn't cause any problems. Basically all you are doing is top seeding. I would wait till your new seed is well established before fertilizing again, though.

A: Wait to apply Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed 3 to your new grass until after the 4th cutting of the new grass. Grass is considered established when it has grown enough to be mowed (1/3 of the grass blade cut) 4 times. To apply anytime earlier risks damaging your new grass due to the weed control.
