A:  Not sure that this model has a turntable that turns off. None that I can find anyway. You can always turn the glass turntable over so the gears don't engage if it's really necessary...

A:  Thanks for the question. While several models of Samsung Over The Range Microwaves do have the option of turning the turntable off, the SMH1622S does not. A hard copy of the User Manual would have come packaged with the new microwave. A:  I do not think you can with this model....I have read the instructions but I believe this model does not have that option.

A:  The SMH1622W comes with a standard 3-prong cord factory-installed. It should be plugged into a dedicated 120V/60 Hz/20-amp outlet. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

A:  All necessary hardware for install is included in the box with the microwave (short of any ducting you need to run the vent through the roof or back wall). The recommended "install hardware Kit" really needs to be listed online as "install service." I too was confused when ordering.

A:  All parts and hardware, needed to install the microwave are included. Only exception may be if you plan to use the blower to vent to a duct to the roof or a back wall. May need additional hardware in that case. The recommended "installation kit" is really an "installation service" offered by Home Depot.

A:  I believe that is the charge for installation. I installed it myself and did not require anything that was not in the box.

A:  if you have an existing over the counter unit, the install is easy. Be sure the mounting holes and screws are identical. I paid $ 79 for install and watched the techs, it was simple. You will need 2 people to mount it since it's bulky.

A:  No duct work was needed on mine. It vents directly into the previously installed louvered vent through the wall to the outside.

Regarding your concern, if you need to install ducts, note that the total duct length of 3 ¼˝ x 10˝ rectangular or 6˝ diameter round duct should not exceed 140 equivalent feet. Outside ventilation requires a HOOD EXHAUST DUCT. The hood exhaust has been designed to mate with a standard 3 ¼˝ x 10˝ rectangular duct. If a round duct is required, a rectangular-to-round transition adaptor must be used. Do not use less than a 6˝ diameter duct. Maximum duct length: For satisfactory air movement, the total duct length of 3 ¼˝ x 10˝ rectangular or 6˝ diameter round duct should not exceed 140 equivalent feet. A:  The SMH1622S exhaust has been designed to mate with a standard 3¼" x 10" rectangular duct. If a round duct is used, a rectangular-to-round transition adapter must be added. Do not use less than a 6" diameter duct. A:  This is specifically used for over the range, not on a counter; it has the vent and light mechanisms underneath the microwave, so its not intended for countertop use.

The SMH1622B and other Over The Range models have exhaust fans and cooktop lighting built into the bottom of the microwave, so they should not be used while sitting on top of the counter. - Ms. Samsung

A:  This is the Home Depot "install service" NOT necessary hardware to self install. All hardware for install (short of ducting if you want to vent to outside) is included in the box. I had to call and ask.

A:  The only extra equipment you would need is if you DID NOT already have an Over the Range Microwave and wanted to vent to the outside. This microwave has (3) three options for venting, 1.) through the top, 2.) through the back, or 3.) recirculating. I chose recirculating because I only had a light above my range and did not want to rip out a wall to get it vented outside.

A:  no. they add the cost to it at the end. installation and parts cost about $80. It did for me anyway.

A:  There was not extra mounting equipment that was not included with the unit as shipped. Just had mine installed last week.

A:  There isn't any. Everything is included (I installed it myself and didn't need anything that didn't come in the box). What you're seeing, I believe, is a charge for installation, not for extra parts. If you install it yourself, you don't pay that, and you need to uncheck it during checkout.

A:  Thanks for the question. The SMH1622W can be set up to vent outside from the rear or top of the unit, or filtered air can be recirculated into the room from vents located in the front that are concealed from view. - Ms. Samsung
