Great for the price
I've had this now for about a week and it heats very quickly! Looks great. I do wish the light underneath was brighter, it's kind of dim. It also starts out pretty loudly and then sounds normal after the first couple of seconds. I'm not sure if that's normal or not? Overall I'm very happy with the microwave and the price was right.

Very spacious and great features.
It is a perfect fit for where it was installed. The Quality of this microwave is wonderful. Works great and is very easy to use. I didn't need any customer service. The shipping was a bit awkward. The young man who brought it to my house turned it upside down and carried it balanced on his head across my yard. This concerned me but it didn't hurt the microwave thank goodness. Awesome product!

VERY Happy!!
I spent weeks reading reviews and decided to purchase this Samsung based on the fact that the microwave was easy to use, install, and fingerprints wipe right off (according to some). When I received the unit, I found it VERY easy to install, (not to mention I am an Electrician and have done it 100's of times). but for the size it was relatively light and the directions for use is very simple. Of course, during the install, I had fingerprints all over the front.. and WOW... and little soap and water and GONE!! I love this Microwave!!!

Great Warranty
Bought this Samsung model to replace a Whirlpool one that only lasted three years. It was suspected that the magnetron needed replacement--cost to replace and install is about equal to a new microwave! This Samsung, however, covers their magnetron for 10 years. Wish we'd bought this one FIRST. Cooks very quickly; I have had to adjust cooking times down. Very pleased. Installation charged was too high, so the husband and I installed ourselves. We did it, but it wasn't easy. Halve the price of your installs and then we might consider it. Looks good, good features, works well. Fits larger dishes, too.

Great Inexpensive Microwave
Looked at plenty of microwaves and finally settled on this one. Arrived in great condition, even fit the mounting bracket and footprint of my old microwave making it that much easier to install. Works well and the default settings are good. My only complaint is sometimes the time is hard to read farther away.

Great microwave at a great price!
We were looking for a smaller stainless steel microwave to fit a tight space and this fit the bill. Nothing fancy - but does the job. Also paid the extra $38 to have it installed and old one hauled away. They had it in and working in under 10 minutes.

    died after 2 years
    Worked great for only 27 months - used only for heating up leftovers and popcorn - then completely quit heating food on Thanksgiving Eve. A brand new microwave should last more than 2 years!

      Even though the Samsung fridge (that we bought first) needed repaired within a yr. we decided to get the matching micro and range due to a good sale. It looks nice and all the bells and whistles are nice if you use them, but the first thing we noticed is how loud it was. Then it just randomly started making this zapping noise, but it was never consistant enough to diagnose it. Now after 2 yrs , it just started zapping away every time you turn it on and won't stop. It smells like something is burning. No one in our area will even touch a Samsung product to repair it and of course it is out of warranty. The range is the only one left and the light keeps blinking on and off in it for no reason (new bulb). Evidently Samsung has some electrical issues, and they don't care one tiny bit about customer service. If it says Samsung, I would look the other way !!!!

        Good product for the price.
        The microwave is functioning well after about a month of use. However, there were problems on the day my contractor installed the microwave because neither the grease filters or the charcoal filter were included in the box. The box appeared to be factory sealed. Fortunately the store where I purchased the microwave was able to provide me with the missing parts.

          You can not use the timer AND cook in this microwave at the same time; you can not stop the turntable in this microwave. I would not buy another.

            Our Samsung over the range microwave SMH1622W 1.6 cu. ft. does the job. A key control to me seems a bit fussy--that is setting the power level. Instead of a straight forward power level button, you have to punch in a time and then set the level. I don't like this feature. It is also not as powerful as I had expected or as the unit it replaced. That said, the ventilation fan is even better, the design pleasingly neutral and the likelihood of a long life seems high. We went with Samsung due to a positive review and overall have not been either thrilled to the max or disappointed.

                One of the few available that would fit into a preexisting cutout in our granite, this microwave appeared to fit the bill. While it fits great, looks good, and seems to work just fine, it is extremely noisy upon start. The sound indicates that the magnetron is straining and will probably fail soon.

                Disappointing
                Replaced a 15 yr old (working) GE OTR microwave with this unit, in order to match our new Samsung Flex Duo Oven (which is GREAT). The oven looks classy. This unit is not finished to the same quality of appearance as the stove. It starts with the plastic handle (you have to go to the 1.7 cu ft to get the metal handle). This unit was a step down in quality from my old unit. It was almost impossible to open the door without putting ones entire weight into the pulling action, and the light was dim. The controls are nothing to write home about, with only an "add 30 seconds" button, and no ability to control the power on these 30 second bursts. I paid for installation (which was not done according to spec, with only a single screw placed into a 2x4), but uninstalled it myself, and shlepped it back to my local home depot, where, with great bureaucratic difficulty ("the online system and our store system don't work well together") they refunded my money. I had to argue for refund of the installation.

                Cleaning the door and door seals Always ensure that the door seals are clean and that the door closes properly. Take particular care when cleaning the door seals to ensure that no particles accumulate and prevent the door from closing correctly. Wash the glass door with very mild soap and water. Be sure to use a soft cloth to avoid scratching. If a thin film of water accumulates on the inside or outside of the oven door, wipe it off with a soft cloth. A thin water film can accumulate when you operate the oven at high humidity and in no way indicates microwave leakage.

                Defective Product DO NOT BUY
                There is clearly a quality or manufacturing defect with this product. The microwave turns on by itself and the only way to clear it out is to open/ close the door. Appears to be an issue between a sensor in the door and the control panel assembly. This may be a safety issue with the microwave turning on randomly. Nevertheless, Samsung called me and offered to buy this product back (full refund of the selling price). This process is VERY inconvienent on the customer and Samsung levies unacceptable requirements on the customer to complete this process! It is actually unbelievable that Samsung is not flexible for the customer when it is their product that is defective! I'm very disappointed in Samsung in this product and their customer relations department and process. I will never never never buy another Samsung product again. This buyback process has cost me hours and hours of my time...going on a month now. DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE.

                  cannot turn off automatic fan!!
                  I bought this because it had good reviews but it is the worst microwave i've had. I does NOT have the one touch cooking for the minutes (if you press 1, it starts cooking one minute). also the light has two settings, high and low, which i don't know why you would ever need a low light, if i want the light to turn off, i have to push the button twice, once to get it to low and then to off. But the most annoying thing is the automatic fan. it did not say that on the product specs. it comes on automatically which is annoying enough, even worse, you cannot turn it back off!!! so you are stuck with the fan running, until it decides to turn off eventually!!
