A:  The cord is 6 feet. The owners manual recommends against using an extension cord, which is good advice with respect to the thin, cheap extension cords that are most common. I need more length so I purchased a heavy duty 10' 14/3 cord which has a 15A capacity. This is more than 5x the current draw of the appliance and I use it with complete confidence for safety.

                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes. There is a hose bib internally with a plug that can be removed on the rear of the unit to run the hose out the rear. The collect tray can/has to stay in place with a hose installed. The unit shuts off if the collect tray is removed.

A:  I am terrible at math and so can't give you a direct answer, but know this: my house 1800 sq. ft. @ 2 stories, and my basement is as big as the first floor, so 1800/2=900 sq ft basement. The basement also is 10 feet tall. This dehumidifier works wonderfully for our space. We have the hose hook-up direct to floor drain in use. Hope this helps.

A:  To answer your question what you see online about the 30 Pint dehumidifiers being sufficient for up to 1,500 square footage is because most companies go based off of Energy Stars Ratings suggestions which you can read in the following link: https://www.energystar.gov/products/appliances/dehumidifiers/dehumidifier_basics while we use measure our by real life applications.

A:  My experience with this unit: I have a 2600sqft house and I use this dehumidifier on continuous all summer to augment the house AC system especially when the humidity outside is high and temp moderate causing my AC to not run enough to dehumidify the house. I don't expect this small unit to be able to handle the size of my house without the AC unit but I believe its addition makes a big comfort improvement.

A:  Don’t know Mine is in the basement which is about 1200 sq ft and it works fine. I have it hooked up direct to my sewer drain and it runs until it reaches the set humidity and then shuts off.

A:  It uses 3.0 amps, 310 watts. For startup, it pulls 14 amps. It works great and is the best buy that I could find for a small dehumidifier.

A:  Although I have not physically measured the amperage consumption of this unit, from the name plate information are: Rated input power = 310W Rated Current = 3A, I believe this is for the high pressure, for there are two settings. High Pressure = 540PSIG Low Pressure =300PSIG It can be Uto started, overall it works great for us.

A:  I'm using a drain on mine and it works very well. However, that does not affect the dehumidification capacity of the machine; so room size limitations would still apply. It just means you're not regularly interrupting the dehumidification process to empty the reservoir.

A:  The casters should not be removed except for replacement. The bottom is not an even surface so the unit will be unstable if the casters are removed.
