Q:I've almost decided to buy this sink, but I'm wondering if it's big enough to serve as a full time, kitchen sink? Any feedback from users? Does it hold your dishes and pots, etc. for day to day use? Thanks.

A: No, you will need to get mounting hardware specific to your counter top surface material for this sink. Any counter top installer or Home Depot store should have under mounting hardware.

A: Very hard Ron, I purchased few months ago I spent lots of money on cleaning products it's not worth it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

A: The Orwell is easy to maintain as long as you understand that the living finish will constantly change with time and use, getting light with general wear and tear, but always darkening up to the dark antique copper finish. We recommend cleaning the sink by only washing it with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth after heavy use and let the living finish do it's thing. We recommend waxing the sink with a high grade carnauba wax once or twice a month to help reduce the dramatic color changes in the finish.

Q:is this sink loud? stainless steel sinks have sound baffling but this doesn't seem to- so wondering if it's loud when water is running.

Answer This Question
A: It's significantly quieter than stainless steel sinks of the same size. Copper is a denser metal so it absorbs the noise and it is not as elastic as stainless steel. Noise is relative so we do offer sound dampening pads if you want them, but this sink isn't loud or sounds tinny while the water is running.

Q:My cut out is 16" X 29 5/8". Will this sink work? I read the suggested cutout 15 3/4" X 27 1/2" so I am not sure enough to purchase it without an expert opinion. Thanks

Answer This Question
A: You would have a large shelf of copper on the left and right sides where the sink bowl doesn't meet the counter top cut out. Undermount sinks have the counter top cut to fit the sink, the dimensions are not as forgiving as a drop in sink.

Q:How is the patina affected by hard water?
by|Jul 20, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The patina will be fine, any hard water deposits can be taken off with some vinegar to loosen up the deposits and a dish scouring pad, like the rough side of a dish sponge. The living finish on the sink will always change color and hue with regular time and use, but that will happen with any pure copper sink.
