Answer This Question

A:  Prior to applying a fresh coat of Rust-Oleum Restore 4X Deck Coat, we recommend removing any loose paint, cleaning the surface and then applying a coat of Rust-Oleum Restore Deck Start Primer. Once the primer has dried, apply the 4X to any bare areas to even out the surface, and then apply a full coat on the surface. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Restore-1-gal-Deck-Start-Wood-Primer-301233/206869729

    Answer This Question

A:  Happy to help, Alicia! Rust-Oleum Restore 4x Deck Coat is considered a paint actually. The product does leave a film on the surface and does not soak in like a semi-transparent stain would.

A:  Restore 4X Deck Coat is for use on broom swept or porous concrete surfaces only. Do not use on smooth or floated concrete. This product is not designed for driveways, garages, or other areas with vehicular traffic. Instead, use Rust-Oleum Restore Liquid Armor Resurfacer. A:  You're lucky it's still staying on the deck. Mine pealed, and blistered after painstakingly preparing the surface of the bare wood and applying it according to directions. Don't use this stuff.

                      Answer This Question

A:  Prior to application of Restore 4X, you need to thoroughly clean your surface and remove any existing paint or stain. Raised nail or screw heads must be secured and you'll want to remove any splinters. Fill cracks using Restore Crack Filler. Make sure the surface is fully dry before applying Restore 4X. For more detailed prep instructions, check out the attached video and see our website. When applied properly, Restore 4X will last approximately 5-7 years with regular maintenance and upkeep.
