A: Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel Spray Paint is intended for use on bare and painted metal surfaces. The surface would need to be sanded to ensure full adhesion. If the surface is bare fiberglass, we recommend priming with Rust-Oleum Automotive Universal Bonding Primer Spray.

A: Happy to help, Kevin! Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel Spray Paint is intended for use on metal surfaces only. To ensure proper adhesion on plastic, we recommend applying Rust-Oleum Automotive Universal Bonding Primer first. A: So far as I knew this not for auto paint finishing coating works. It may it may not as there no information regarding this paint will work other material surface. From the same brand, there is another type Clear paint that can works on multi material even plastic. I think that is more appropriate for your plastic paint work. You can go the Home Depot shop you will find it. Good Luck

A: Thank you for reaching out! Our Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamels are solvent-based coatings, and should be allowed to fully cure for 7 days if applying a different type of coating, such as a 2-part clear coating. Our Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel Gloss Clear may be applied within 1 hour of the solid color enamel, or after 48 hours: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-11-oz-Gloss-Clear-Enamel-Spray-Paint-6-Pack-257884/202628468?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal2_rr-_-202623068-_-202628468-_-N - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

A: Most likely, but typically you have to fine sand any enamel paint in order for the cover paint to adhere. It should also adhere if you put it over enamel paint shortly after the recommended drying time for the enamel paint (still slightly sticky so the spray paint will adhere). That's my thoughts suggestion based on reading past directions/internet recommendations.

A: This is serve most car paint for clear coating process. There is no information regarding this clear paint is arylic enamel or other enamel paint. what will cause the trouble is the solvent inside the paint. for sure and safe, you may test paint on a small area is workable or not. I did it before with some furniture result the paint on the furniture is ripped out. So, beware of its chemical reaction. If nothing wrong with it. then you go ahead to do your job. this clear paint is not bad, if need more glossy, then you have do number of spray paint layer before you buff it. I wish that I can help.

A: Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel is designed to be applied over metal or primed metal surfaces only. If you're looking to spray plastic, you may want to consider using Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2x Ultra Cover Spray Paint. This can be applied to your plastic surface but as with any plastic, it's always good to do a small test area to ensure desired results. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Painter-s-Touch-2X-12-oz-Semi-Gloss-Black-General-Purpose-Spray-Paint-249061/202071351 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 1
