A: I would think that sanding a wet object would cause problems such as the sand paper being clogged and parts of the sander would also experience the same problem

A: Maximum belt sanding speed (ft./min.) 3450 Minimum belt sanding speed (ft./min.) 1900
A: 3600r/min
A: Disc ROM is 3,600
A: I am currently away from access to the sander so I can't answer the rpm question. Whatever speed it is running at is sufficient to do a good job at sanding wood. What is more important is this warning: The on/off switch has a plastic key in it which allows you to disable the unit for safety reasons I assume. My key worked its way out and was lost. Without the key the switch feels like its broken. I found I could not order the key separately but had to buy the whole switch. The replacement switch is a different size (does not fit sander) so I just used the new key. $17. for a bit of plastic key. Advice: Tape over the key on the switch to prevent loss due to machine vibration. Note: I sent the company the model and serial number and still got an unusable switch.
