A: No, you need a connected device for that, like a Nest, and they are a LOT more expensive then this one.
A: No. Not a WiFi device.
A: This is not a Smart enabled thermostat, you cannot program it from any other device.
A: The contacts for the batteries need to be bent in to help make a better contact.
A: Based on the short description of the problem with your thermostat you should first check your circuit breaker and make sure all is proper at the panel and rule out any problem with the system itself. Then, check / change the battery(s) and also try removing the face plate from the back plate and re-seat it. If that does not provide a solution, depending on where you live with recent temperature changes you might have adjusted your system setting from heat to cool. Check to see what your display is telling you. Is it set to heat, cool or system off? Read your installation and programming guide. Or, if you installed the thermostat to handle both heat and cool automatically rather than manually changing the settings, you may need further instruction for wiring and should call Honeywell's tech support. I had to call them with an installation issue and I found them to be very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I hope this helped point you in a successful direction. Good luck.
A: Check your breakers; both inside and the one outside, near your condenser. Hose your condenser fins clean, pull any weeds, remove anything blocking air flow. When the condenser is dirty or obstructed, it overheats and blows the breaker. If the breakers look ok, turn them off and back on - sometimes breakers don't pop all the way off. Aerosol AC fin cleaner works great. Be careful not to bend the fins; they make a "fin comb" to straighten them. You need to clean the condenser about once a year, in the spring.
A: Hi Don, With no disrespect, your inquiry does not elaborate on the nature of the problem you are having. I found the directions to be straight forward and I also found tech support very supportive. in regard to my unit, I has programming problems. Working with tech support, we uncovered the problem. More specifically, the buttons were not properly centered. When I pressed the center of the button, nothing happened. However, when I pressed the extreme right side of the button, the unit responded in accordance with the programming instructions. If you are experiencing similar problems, try pressing the sides of the buttons. It worked for me.
A: Hi don! I have listed a link below that will direct you to the operating manual for this thermostat; https://customer.honeywell.com/resources/techlit/TechLitDocuments/69-0000s/69-1899EF.pdf
A: Hi. There is a plate in the back you attach to the wall first. Read the instruction manual that came with your thermostat or read the one on the Home Depot website under or beside the product description. Easy to install./
A: Very easy installation 4 wires that are color coded just have to match these wires to the wall plate that identifies the wire colors
A: I will answer your question best as possible based on the information provided. First, regarding the "five cycles"question, this thermostat allows only four set backs (or temperature changes per day, including automatic change over to control a refrigeration type air-conditioning system) It does allow seven day programs, meaning each day of the week can have as many as four temperature changes per day at any time of the day (not five) that a temperature change is desired. Regarding controlling a gas fed steam system, there isn't enough information provided regarding the system that this thermostat would control for me to answer intelligently. This thermostat has the capability to control a gas fired burner based on room temperature where it is installed. My knowledge of gas steam systems relates to the steam radiators that regulate individual room temperature rather than thermostats that regulate the gas fired steam system or steam boilers. I generally think a steam boiler (or any boiler) should maintain a set water temperature at the boiler unrelated to any room temperature controlled by a room thermostat.
A: Yes, this model is compatible.
A: Hi. This thermostat only has a 4 periods as do many for sale at the Home Depot at this price point. If you do your research Home Depot's website or ask the pros in the thermostat aisle, you should get some tips as to which make, model and price. As long as you. You could also ask the pro to help with your "gas fired steam system", but I believe this would work as long as the voltage is compatible.
A: I'm afraid I can't answer your questions. The operating manual , which you could probably download online, may answer your question. I have the model RTH7500. The operating manual is for Honeywell RTH7400/ RTH7500, RET 97 series. You can call Honeywell at 1-800-468-1502 or e-mail: Http://yourhome.honeywell.com
A: When installing a Honeywell RTH7500D thermostat, there are two steps. The first step is to program the RTH7500D to your system and to set some other critical aspects of operation. The second step (once the RTH7500D has been set to work with your heating and cooling equipment) is to program it to automatically adjust the temperatures throughout the day and the days of the week. The RTH7500D cannot be programmed when set to "Permanent Hold." So first cancel "permanent hold" by pressing the center schedule button once if it is activated. Then press the center "schedule" button again to enter into the temperature programming mode. The next step is to set the "day" or "days" of the week you desire to all run the setback programs (four setbacks per day maximum). If each day of the week will run a different setback program, then each day must be programmed individually. If all seven days will run the same program, then select all seven days. Days of the week to be programmed are selected by pressing the center (now displaying) "Edit" button, stop when all days of the week have a check mark beside them on the display, only when programming all seven days alike. Now, when programming the setback temperatures, they will apply to all the days of the week that were checked, as the thermostat advances through its calendar. Be sure to set the thermostat clock to the correct time too. The operating and programming instructions can be downloaded from Home Depot's web site and contain much more information than my brief explanation above. If the thermostat is truly stuck on Wednesday, it is defective and should be exchanged for a working unit. There is no "Factory Reset" for the RTH7500D. It only programs forward from the day it is activated by the installer. However while there is no factory reset, all program functions can be updated or changed at anytime.
A: On the Home Depot product page specific to this particular thermostat, you will find a section for various manuals related to the product itself. One is a "Use and Care" manual. You can find it at the following url: https://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/fc/fc0106d8-66f6-4fba-8881-756383c1a889.pdf.
A: Hello Mcross! Great news! You do have the ability to set a scheduled program for different temperatures at different time. You will also have the ability to schedule a program for the fan through the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort website once the thermostat is connected to a Wi-Fi network. I hope this helps. Thank you.
A: To qualify my answer, I am not an HVAC contractor. I am a do-it-yourself home owner. The Honeywell RTH7500 thermostat appears to be a suitable replacement for the T8411R. Since you did not include a picture of your exiting T8411R wire connections, it is impossible for to me to say with 100-percent certainty the RTH7500 will work in your application. I have included a photo of typical T8411R wiring connections. If your connections match these, then the RTH7500 will work. Disregard wire colors. There is no standard wire color code for HVAC thermostats in the industry. Pay attention to the alphanumeric terminal designations only and disregard wire colors. Photograph your connections or make a diagram before replacing the thermostat. Label each wire regardless of color by its terminal connection letter. The "B" wire of the old T8411R must be connected to the "C" terminal of the new RTH7500. If the "W" and "X2" terminals of the old T8411R are connected together (jumpered), then terminals "E" and "AUX" of the new RTH7500 must also be connected together (jumpered). All other terminal connections stay the same, R to R, G to G, Y to Y, O to O. Once the wiring connections have been made, the RTH7500 will need to be programmed for your heat pump (refer to the Advanced Installation instructions for programming). Also, the RTH7500 must have batteries installed to operate. It may use power from your HVAC system so the batteries act as a backup power source for the thermostat. However, the thermostat most likely will not operate without the batteries installed.
A: I don't work for Honeywell and I am not a licensed HVAC contractor. I do not recommend end users resetting Honeywell Thermostats. They were not intended to be end-user reset as doing so should be unnecessary. It is best to simply re-program the thermostat when different settings are desired without resetting. If resetting is the goal, you may try the following procedure at your own risk. If your Honeywell thermostat is malfunctioning and cannot be reprogrammed, it may have failed and need replacement. The procedure to do a hard reset for some Honeywell thermostats is as follows: 1. Press and release the "system" and "fan" key at the same time. 2.Press and hold "system" and "down" button until the screen goes blank and "0680" appears on the screen. 3. Press the "up" or "down" to change "0680" to "0710", there should be flashing "0". 4. Press "up" or "down" key to change "0" to a "1". 5. Press the "done" key. If this procedure successfully resets your Honeywell thermostat, all prior settings will be lost and it will need to be reprogrammed to operate the type of heating and/or cooling equipment it is controlling. Electric, gas, heat pump, air conditioners, first and/or second stage heating and/or cooling if used and changeover valve operation for heat pumps to include setbacks if used. If the above procedure does not reset the thermostat and user settings cannot be accessed or changed, then it can be assumed the thermostat has most likely failed.
