    A:  The doors have a vent (small cutouts with a shutter), which can be opened or closed. These slits are within the frame of the inner door, not easily visible. However, one should keep in mind that the doors are not designed to completely seal off the air flow from the room into the fireplace and vice versa. Important here, this has nothing to do with whether the gas burner to be used is of "vented or vent free gas logs" syle. Vented versus vent free gas logs is about whether or not one needs an exhaust, where the burning products either are going out of the house (vented, e.g., the chimney flute) or into the room (ventless). This is irrespective of whether the fire door has "vents".

              A:  Follow the fireplace opening chart that the manufacturer provides. If your opening is within the dimensions listed for that door size you should be ok. Don't assume that since it is mounted on the front surface it won't matter, it will. Especially if you are buying a model with door that are curved on the top.
