Q:We have 2 fireplaces that are raised 2 feet from the floor/hearth, so in the middle of the wall. Can this fireplace screen work seeing that it would be directly mounted in the opening without the weight of it sitting on the hearth?

A:  Hi Maureen, Our fireplace glass door sets cannot hang from an elevated opening. The weight of the door must be supported from beneath, so it must rest on the bottom of the hearth. The brackets that come in the hardware pack are not made to hold the weight of the door sets; they are made to keep the doors from falling forward. - GHP Group
