A: This may be a little to warm I would suggest 125W. I had a 250 watt bulb with the red lens and it was way to hot. The 250W is capable of melting various Plastic Dog houses even the "dogloo".

A: Well, lots of issues with this – these are used for chickens and pigs, so technically, yes, but it depends on the space, the fixture how close it will be to the dog, technically it could burn them it they are too close to it. Therefore we cannot advise you to use that application.

A: If it is a base up socket over the stove, yes. You would need to caution that these bulbs get very hot & you need to avoid touching. If there is no cover, there can be breakage. There are tough coated bulbs available that are used in food prep areas to contain the glass if breakage occurs.

Q:Can you install these bulbs in a regular socket for heating a bathroom

Answer This Question
A: Hi Mike,
In terms of a regular socket, it really depends on the fixture itself whether or not it will operate at all.
For example, most 6" recessed can lights typically only go up to 75 watt maximum. The only fixtures I've seen that we sell that would work for these PAR38 heat bulbs are clip on lamps.
If you do place this in a fixture not rated for it (the UL max. wattage should be on the socket), it will create a fire hazard, and the bulb will not last for very long.
