A:  Yes you can use wireless collar for invisible fence probably would only put on & off them when you let them out due to the size & weight of unit.. they will learn the boundary with the flags probably in just a few wks.. I trained my poodle in about 2wks & now she never wears it just knows not to leave perimeter..

A:  It has worked for my dog in a regular front yard and now she doesn't leave the yard when outside. Just set the response level appropriate for the size dog. I also purchased the birdhouse barking monitor and it works great

A:  Hello there, thank you for your question! While this collar is recommend for most dogs 8lbs and up, depending on your smaller dogs' build you may wish to consider our even smaller collars offered in the PIF00-12917 Stay + Play Wireless Fence or the PIF00-15001 Free to Roam Wireless Fence. In regards to your bark collar question, consistency is a huge factor in ensuring your dogs success when using bark collars so we would not recommend rotating this collar with the containment collar for this reason. We would love to discuss this further with you to help you pick the right products for your needs. Please give us a call at 1-800-732-2677 for further assistance.

Q:I know it covers 90 feet from the transmitter. Does it beep at 90 feet or does it shock at 90 feet?

            Answer This Question

A:  That's an excellent question! The distance will vary a bit, but when it is set to the maximum, the collar will begin to provide a static correction at approximately 90 feet away from the transmitter. The warning tone will begin several feet before the static correction.

            by|May 5, 2023

A:  Both. It beeps and if you don't back away, it shocks.

              by|Dec 30, 2018

A:  The control is on the collar. It's your choice how to use the 4 levels, the first is tone only. The second level is a mild shock, the third is a shock and the fourth and final setting is a hard shock.

A:  Both it depends on the radius you set up .walk around the yard with the collar in your hand and some by the unit to increase or decreae the limit. This unit works real well. If you follow the instructions.

A:  It shocks at 90, there is a warning tone a couple of feet sooner

                      Answer This Question

A:  Yes you can. You just have to check your perimeter when you calibrate the collar, to make sure that it doesn't beep in the areas you want them to be. You can mount this on the wall or place on a shelf exc. We have ours in a bedroom window and both our dogs can walk the perimeter of our house while still staying in their play area. If you want to expand the area, you can even buy a second one and link it to yours. We put batteries in ours and took it camping. We left it in our car on low setting and the girls stayed around our campsite. It's worth the money and HD offered a competitive price when I shopped around, prior to buying at HD.

A:  Thank you for your question, Bella! Yes, since the transmitter must be installed indoors, your home would be within the boundary area and your dog could freely use the doors in your home to go out into the portion of the boundary signal which is outdoors.

A:  Yes. With main unit plugged in and collar charged and around your pet’s neck, just open the door and let ‘em run free. Our unit has worked perfect. Took our pup but a few tries to wander too far, then she learned how far she could go. The invizable circle lets her roam front, side and backyard without worry of chasing after neighbor’s cat or our mail truck.

A:  This fence system will broadcast a radius around the main unit. The radius size is determined by the control on the main unit, that being said your dog will be able to freely move within this radius area depending on the location of main unit. I live on a highway and used this for my three dogs. I used it for about 3 weeks and they learned boundaries easily with no harm to them and little work on my part.

A:  Once my dog leaves the area the collar is set to send a tone , then if the dog does not move back into the area he gets shocked. The tone goes off and shuts off once they move about 20 ft inside the area. One other thing make sure not to leave the collar on all the time. If the unit gets unplugged or the power goes out the collar responds like the dog has left the area and will continually go off until the unit is plugged back in or the power comes back on.

A:  I don't think so. The instructions will tell you. If the dog leaves the area regularly then the shock level needs to be higher and/or the collar tighter.

A:  You would need to check with your doctor. I would also suggest calling the manufacturer of the system and would not recommend that you personally check to see if it’s workjng. Have someone else test it.

A:  Thank you for your question! The 1/2-Acre Wireless Pet Containment System sends out a radio signal with a 18.7 kHz frequency. Since we do not know the electronic makeup of the device we suggest that the doctor be contacted or and the manufacturer of the medical device. Provide them with the frequency of your system and they will be best suited to address your interference questions and concerns. A:  Yes, the unit is the center of your fence. The range is adjustable but it always remains a circle. I made a sketch our house with measurements to determine where the unit should be placed. We moved it to the rear of our home to maximize the amount of space they would have in the backyard. In addition, we moved the center of the circle to one side of our house to keep them away from our closest neighbor at the opposite side. Be sure you don't create a no-go zone inside your house when setting your range. Move the unit or give it more distance to prevent that. I used wooden stakes at measured distances to test where the front, back and side boundaries were and used the thumb wheel to fine tune the diameter of the circle. This unit made it possible for our dogs to join us outside, play frisbee untethered and no physical barrier reducing our access or use of our yard.

A:  The base has to be in the center if the circle. The circle diameter can be adjusted.

A:  Yes you can with the options on the fence main control and placement of the unit. I live on a highway (Montana Highway 2 East) I bought this for the exact reason you are inquiring about. The main unit sends out a radius signal that can be adjusted from the side on my unit, this is how to adjust the radius. Now to adjust the distance from front to back will depend on placement in the house farther to the back they can move farther back or visa versa. The training collar for this unit comes with an attachment to check and set free roam area to desired size. This eliminates having to do test runs on your poor pet. With that being said you can also adjust the intensity of the collar. My pups learned after onetime on low, if your dad is stubborn you can set it higher. My pets are very special to us an this product has help keep them off the highway and in our home.

A:  I had a similar issue as well. The wireless system is a complete circular wireless signal so I installed the wireless containment system in a location in the back part of my home that allowed less distance in front yard & more depth in back. The only other option is to go with a hard wired system.. hope that helped:)

A:  I think you should be ok, but it will take some fine tuning to get it right. It's not an exact science. I have two collars and one goes off further out then the other one. Based on your dimensions you're just under 1/2 acre, so just adjust the boundary until you get it where you need it. Also depends on where you put the transmitter. Good Luck!

                                                      by|May 5, 2023

A:  Thank you for your question! This particular system works by sending a circular signal out, with the transmitter at the center, that has an adjustable radius of 15-90'. While the range can be adjusted larger/smaller, the circular shape of the signal area cannot be changed. To give your dog the biggest possible play area, you would want to place the transmitter at a mid-point between your front and back yard, while at the same time placing it so that the range does not quite reach the road.

A:  Thank you for your question, Sammy! Up to 3 transmitters can be used together to expand the boundary area. To do this, you would set the transmitters up in positions so that their boundary areas overlap by at least 10'. When this is done, the collar or collars would be able to pass in between those boundary areas without activating.

You might call the mfg for advice, but I don't think you can make it bigger than it is made for. You will have borders overlapping with more than one system which will be confusing and possibly dangerous to your dog. 1/2 acre is plenty big for us.

However, we do not have any that would be compatible with your wireless receiver collar as well. So you could use both your containment system, and pet barrier, but it would require you to change your pet's collars as they come inside.

Rather than the effectiveness depending on the size or weight of your dogs, however, it depends more on their demeanor and susceptibility to training. If your dogs are easily trained and respond to commands consistently, they will be far more likely to become used to the fence and the boundaries much quicker. If your dogs are more stubborn and difficult to train, it may take longer for them to become acclimated to the fence and may require the full 30 day training program (which is laid out in the manual) in order to learn to stay within the boundary area.
