A:  Thank you for the great question! The Wireless Pet Fencing system can cover up to 1/2 an acre (90 feet) of the property. The system should cover your property if it is roughly this distance. You may also add on up to 3 transmitters if you are needing to expand this distance.

A:  Our first one only lasted a little over a year for some reason. You can contact the maker of it if you haven’t had it very long and I think you have a year warranty unless you bought the extended one when you purchased it. We bought a second one & did purchase the extended warranty for it. We didn’t have to buy new collars either. But we did have a collar go bad also and it was replaceable.

A:  No, it has special batteries for the collar. We bought a supply of replacement batteries, but they last a few months or so.

            by|Jan 2, 2019

A:  No they are not..they last roughly 4 months..

              by|Dec 31, 2018

A:  No. They are cr2032 but in a sealed housing. You can buy after market cheaper but my experience they don’t last. Several you tube videos on how to rework housing.

A:  Not that I am aware of but the batteries are fairly inexpensive and last for months.

A:  Thank you for your question! The collar included with this system uses disposable 6V RFA-67 batteries. Each battery should get approximately 1-3 months of use, depending on how often your dog tests their boundaries/activates the collar.

                    by|Dec 30, 2018

A:  No. You must buy new ones and replace them. It's requires 2 per collar.

A:  No the batteries are not rechargeable.

A:  After your dog is trained it will keep them from leaving the area. But it will not keep other dogs, people, or critters from coming in YOUR yard and hurting your dog. We only let our dog out if we are going to be home.

A:  Hi Betty, thank you for your question! The goal of this system is to allow your pet the freedom to roam the pet containment area you choose off leash after completing the recommended two weeks of training. We do recommend to supervise your furry family member when they are using a containment system like this.

A:  No you don’t have to be at home to keep your dog in the confinement area. The instructions will teach you how to set you parameter & train the dog to stop when it hears the collar beep or it will get shocked. I will be honest to see them get shocked is horrible, but it is for their own good to keep them safe. We are on our second system.

A:  The system is on continuously, unless you turn it off which we never do. When weather is good we can leave our dog outside when we are gone a few hrs or less. He still can't leave the yard! The only drawbacks are if you are afraid he will we stolen, we do not worry about that in our neighborhood, and that other dogs are still able to come in your yard and bother your dog or hurt him. Again, we don't worry about that either. Our dog loves it outside - he also has a fenced in back yard, but he loves to sit on thed front porch and protect the house! So depending on the situation and length of time, we can leave him outside with no worries. The system is a good one. Our dog is controlled to stay in the yard at all times.

A:  I think the collar will be too heavy for a cat. Plus the bite is pretty powerful. I use on my 70lb Labrador and it works wonderful. I've had mine for a couple of years and now my dog doesn't even wear the collar because she knows where the boundary's are in place. Hope this helps. This product is worth the money.

A:  Hi Amanda, great question! For a Husky we would definitely recommend getting the longer contact points for this collar. They will be available in our optional RFA-529 Receiver Accessory Pack.
