Answer This Question

A:  We purchased these with the recommended balusters. They worked great. Good tight fit!

by|May 7, 2022

A:  I found that they fit snuggly.  Not to the point of immoveable but good enough to provide a secure baluster. You may be able to twist the baluster but not remove it.  I am happy with them.  I replaced my entire deck railing of wooden spindles .

A:  These connectors are a little shy of 11/16". They are made for the inside diameter of a 3/4" pipe. So they will fit loose

A:  I haven’t used on square, but they will spin. Just one screw holds them in place

A:  Yes you can use them. They can spin or not depending on how tight the screw is.

A:  They should. Just screw the flat side of the connector to whatever, should work fine. Just be sure to use the correct sized Aluminum baluster tube. (that's what I used anyway).

A:  Never used them like that but yes you could or can be used on angle for hand rails on stairs

                      by|Feb 28, 2020

A:  I would think they would. Connecting to the side posts may be a little tricky and the posts would have to be pretty close together.

Q:I have four stairways in and around my house (interior and exterior and from deck). Every single one of them is at a 42 degree pitch. What is the angle on the beveled end of this product? Will it work with the pitch my home stairways have? If the product's angle does not exactly match my stairway's pitch, can an installation adjustment (like not tightening the screw all the way) suffice? Also, the screws you have supplied in the past are getting really bad reviews. Have they been upgraded?

A:  Not sure what the angle of the connector is but my application was for a shallower pitch than normal and the connector adapted just fine. I tighten them up snug.

A:  This will work as they can flex to the angle needed. I cut my bars too to match the desired angle; gives a clean finished look. Good luck but this will work …

A:  Yes wood balusters are probably stronger but these do a great job in my opinion plus they look better and will last longer and you don’t have waist time staining or painting them every other season I will never use wood balusters again

A:  I used these on 2 deck projects over 8 years now and are very happy with the product. They have held on with bumps from me and kids and grand kids and none have broken. They also offer an 'air' gap between wood and pole so it doesn't hold water like a drilled hole. I tried drilled holes on the first project and when the treated pine rails warped the poles pulled out from not going deep enough so we changed rails to cedar and then used this connector.
