Q:When setting a schedule (eg water once every 7 days), when does the first watering occur?

Answer This Question

A:  You are able to set the time and day it starts.

by|Jan 14, 2022

A:  Hi there, that's a great question. I don't know so, what I did was use the manual setting on the day I programmed it to soak it well, then I set it to come on every seven days, if you have any further questions just ask!

    by|Jan 19, 2021

A:  At the time you set that same day. If it's past that time -- say you set 7:00 am and it's now 8:30 am, it will begin at 7 the next day.

    by|Jan 21, 2021

A:  It happens as soon as you set the time for it to start.

    by|Jan 22, 2021

A:  it normally will start whenever the next schedule is. If you set it to water Every Monday at 5am, and you set that on a Tuesday, it won't water until Monday at 5am. if you set it to water each week on Monday at 5am and you make that setting at 4am monday, it will start watering at 5am that same day.

Q:Where can I find a key for an orbit controller?
        by|Nov 11, 2020

        Answer This Question

A:  I have 2 controllers. They have been in service for the last 4 seasons. They work great. I just took them out of service about 3 weeks ago and brought them in to my warm shop for the winter. I’m not firmiliar with a key. I didn’t get a key nor do I recall a key mentioned in the instructions. I guess I can’t help you. I suggest you call the manufacturer’s customer service rep for help. The number should be on the instructions. Pete567

A:  there is no key for the Orbit controller...maybe I am confused with the question...more info would be helpful

        by|Nov 11, 2020

A:  Works great. Very easy to install and setup.

        by|Nov 11, 2020

A:  The device does not have a key, if you mean something to open a lock. If you lost the instructions you can download them at https://www.orbitonline.com/help-center/

Q:Can you hook a hose splitter on it, hook 2 hoses to it and have it water in 2 different areas?
        by|Sep 17, 2020
        7 Answers
        Answer This Question

A:  Yes you can. This should be easy enough to do as the connection is a standard hose type connection.

        by|Sep 17, 2020

A:  Absolutely. It allows plenty of pressure through the valve. Good Luck

        by|Sep 22, 2020

A:  I see no reason why not. I installed our timer on one side of our splitter but you could install it on the outlet above the splitter so the timer would control both hoses.

          by|Sep 22, 2020

A:  Sure, Timer "knows" one exit port. You may have to change time since water is being "split in two".

            by|Sep 17, 2020

A:  Yes. I have done this with no problems.

            by|Sep 17, 2020

A:  Yes, absolutely. Mine is connected to a hose that later has a Y-connector to reach two areas.

            by|Sep 20, 2020

A:  Yes, I have done that. Of course both areas will get watered at the same time for the same duration, so for better control I used a Y-splitter that has valves for each split, so I can have less water go to one of the areas.

                A:  120 minutes

                by|Sep 17, 2020

A:  The longest duration for this model is 4 hours (240 min). Orbit makes a 2-port model that has a 6-hour duration and multiple programs that you could combine for nearly-continuous operation for 12 hours.

                by|Nov 13, 2020

A:  You can run it hourly from 0-60 min, or every 2 hours from 0-120 min, 4 hours from 0-240 min 6 hours up to 360 min. The unit changes in hourly increments of 1,2,4,6,12, and then to Daily from there. The unit can be set to run continuously if you want but the max minutes is 360 so as an example you could set it to run hourly at 60 min or 6 hours at 360 min, but keep in mind you might have to change the batteries more often as it would turn on and off more frequently at the 1 hour setting.

A:  I can’t answer the question. I have 2 of these timers on my back and front decks. They are great. I water my plants for 8 minutes every day. Remember to bring the timers in the house in the winter so they don’t freeze. Change the batteries every spring. These are great reliable timers,,,,.

                    by|Jul 14, 2020

A:  Sure, I do that all the time. I have the pulse sprinkler in the garden connected to one side of the "Y' adapter and on the other side I have a hose with a spray nozzle. The only problem I have is not enough water pressure to run a sprinkler at the same time as using a hose to water elsewhere.

A:  Yes I have 3 faucets and I use one at each faucet with a hose splitter on all of them.

                    by|Jul 23, 2020

A:  In my opinion, it should work as long as main valve remains open. The 2 port faucet adapter would have to one that has individual "shutoffs" for each port.

                    Answer This Question

A:  It seems like it would, though I don't have a gravity system so am not certain. The valves and timer are controlled electronically, rather than by water flow.

                    by|Nov 13, 2020

A:  No, it is not run by water pressure, it is battery operated. As long as you have good battery, it'll run the watering program you set.

A:  I use it on a 13 gallon gravity drip system. Works great. You may need to adjust the times for specific water volumes

                      by|Aug 14, 2020

A:  I think this will depend largely on the sprinkler you use. I have only average water pressure and this seems to operate well for me.

                        by|Oct 15, 2020

A:  It snaps the valves open and closed, should work on gravity as long as your lines permit the flow threw the valves.

A:  if the timer is 60 feet below the water level in the tank, it will work. 60 feet is approximately equivalent to 25 psi.
