A: I used plumber’ s tape to seal the connections & that took care of the small leaks my timer had at the connection. Also, may need a new washer. I think I’d buy a new one or try to return under warranty if this doesn’t work. A replacement would likely be cheaper than a repair.
A: Have you replaced the gasket inside the outlet? Flat ones work better than round ones.
A: Is it possible the rubber washer has fallen out of the female connector in the bottom of the timer? If it has, water will leak out. Garden hose washers are inexpensive and easy to install.
A: As far as I know, there is no repair. Did you leave these outside and connected last winter? They will crack inside if they freeze.
A: Is it possible some water was left in the unit and froze? That is usually what happens. The water freezes, expands and makes a hairline crack in the plastic, and then you throw it away and buy a new one. I've learned to take them in early, before we have a frost, turn them on after they get disconnected, and shake out any water. Best to store them inside.
A: No. The most it will go is 10 days
A: The maximum days that you can set this one for is 7 days.
A: The maximum interval is 7 days so you wouldn't be able to get this unit to turn on every 3-4 weeks.
A: The max interval on this timer is 7 days. If you wanted to create a longer interval, say every 21 days, you could pair up two timers in series and set one to every 3 days and the other to every 7 days. You would have to make sure they are both set to come on/go off at the same time.
A: Hey Dan, no you can't set it for every four weeks, the good news is you can walk down to the unit and manually start the timer. Sorry just trying to keep my sense of humor in these trying times. Stay safe bro.
A: sounds like you have a stuck valve! try back flushing while opening and closing the timers control knob. then reconnect and test.
A: Maybe the batteries are too weak to activate the valve? You should hear an audible click when the valve shuts off. If the batteries don't help, it may be time for a new one.
A: You should be able to touch manual button, push + button for minutes you wish to water. Orbit should turn on automatically in a moment. If not, then return to Home Depot to replace, something not working internally. I have 1 port and multi port Orbit timers and they work as advertised.
A: I would buy a new timer. My first timer only lasted 6 months.
A: Check the batteries
A: The only problem that I have ever had with these is when I forgot to bring them in and they froze.
A: Hi, The time that I bought was fine for my needs. One major difference between your old timer and the new one is that your old timer is hard wired in and the new one is wire-less and battery operated.
A: Wow. That’s an oldie! This new timer is run with two AA batteries and has lots of options. It’s very user friendly and I’ve had it a few years. Just don’t leave it out I’m freezing weather or it’ll damage it.
A: Yes.
A: Orbit timer is battery operated. Difficult to completely answer your question since I'm not sure what is being controlled by timer.
A: It uses 2 AA batteries and has a battery level indicator on the screen.
A: AA batteries
A: All mine use 2 AA 1.5V batteries
A: A couple of AA batteries will last for several months. It's a very reliable timer.
A: Uses 2 AA alkaline batteries
A: 2- AA Batteries. They will last the entire season. These timers are great! I use them to control my entire watering system and they are easily removed when I need to winterize.
A: It’s battery operated
A: Two AA batteries
A: There is a small removable battery pack in the back. Works real well with 2 AA batteries. Some of the newer models use AAA. it is a nice addition to your garden. Good Luck!
A: I will take a wild guess and say it's made in China, since Orbit has a manufacturing facility there and other timers are made there. If it was made in USA, I'm sure it would be easier to find the country of origin.
A: This product is made in Vietnam.
A: The one I have was made in China but from the package it looks like they also make them in the USA.
A: No, Vietnam.
A: I have used mine during 2 seasons (so far) in direct sunlight in temps up to 111 degrees for a few weeks, so far, so good.
A: Yes, that should be no problem. I have had timers all around my yard for several years. I do remove them during the rainy months.
A: Yes, mine is installed in the sun for about 6 hours and it is fine. It is pretty sturdy
A: We installed ours in direct sunlight six plus hours a day, but has not been over 91 degrees!
A: mine is in full sun / heat most of the day. I do cover it with an old ice cream pail just to protect it from the UV so it will last longer. Had it for 3 years now
A: Yes it will but put in new batteries before you go. The only problem I have is the battery dying because I have not checked it.
A: Yes, I have done the same period and my timer was fine. I think the batteries are usually good for 3-4 months. Depending on the times you turn it on & off. Every other day will be no problem. Good Luck
A: Yes - your water valve needs to be left on - this timer will water at the designated start time and shut off after the designated number of minutes. I keep mine on all summer long and though I have not had any major problems with it, I do notice that it drips at the bottom of the unit.
A: Yes
A: I’m not sure about ‘every other day’ as I’ve never explored whether that setting is possible. I do know that you can set the timer for ‘every day’ at a given time and you can specific how long the water runs-10 min; 20 min. etc. We’ve found this very helpful on vacations.
A: Yes. It will continue to operate until you turn it off or the batteries run out. The batteries last more than a whole season of daily operation (7 months).
A: Yes. I set mine up mid-May and have not had to change the batteries yet. It works well.
A: Yes Sir. That should be no problem. These are great units.
A: Once I have set up my timers they run for about a year before I need to replace batteries. I do change them every year in the spring to have fresh batteries and not have to worry about it not working and not notice it.
A: Yes. It will keep coming on according to the schedule you sent, until you turn it off.
A: Yes.
A: Yes. It has several settings to accommodate typical watering schedules.
A: Yes.
A: Yes you can. Set time, Set Start time and move the dial to how long and scroll over to INT. Follow the prompts and set it to go off every 7 days. Good Luck.
A: Yes, you can set it to start at the same time for the same amount of time 7 days per week. If you don’t want it to continue on day 8, you would have to turn the dial to off. I use the timer to run the auto fill for my koi pond and it works great!
A: You can set the timer to come on the same time every day. If you mean for just 7 days, then no. If you mean every day, yes.
A: You can set it to turn on every day, yes, but this timer does not allow for limitations such as "only for a seven-day period".
A: You may not have enough pressure.
A: Hi There Chris, This thing is not a pump. It can only pass water through the valve. It only opens when the pressure is great enough to open the spring loaded valve. Usually 20-30 PSI. Won't work without that pressure. I'm guessing you only have the pressure from the weight of the water and gravity. Good Luck.
A: This timer is not a pump and only provides the pressure given it. The rain barrel is only giving it the pressure of the water and gravity. The pressure you are giving it isn't enough for the valve to open fully. You need higher PSI for it to open and work correctly. Good Luck
A: not enough water presure
A: This timer is designed to be used with a pressurized water system like your faucet or tap which has average pressure of 60 psi.
