A: I am using it with a quarter inch tubing in a perennial bed which I run every day for one hour. With the half inch I would think you would not need an adapter what you could do is regulate how much each tree gets by using the gallon emitters but you’d have to test it out to see how long you’d have to run it. I use an adapter because I have to reduce the pressure to use the quarter inch tubing. But I have also hooked it up to a garden hose without an adapter with no problem. Worth a try - such a time saver.

Q:Whenever the water kicks off when the water time ends, there's a very loud clunk on the plumbing pipes then water spills out at the bottom of timer. Did water pressure break the timer?

A: This seems like you have a very common problem called "water hammer" effect. Great article at https://plumbingtoday.biz/blog/what-can-i-do-about-the-knocking-banging-noises-in-my-pipes#:~:text=Water%20hammer.&text=A%20water%20hammer%20occurs%20when,hammer%20can%20create%20knocking%20pipes.
It can happen when ANY device is quickly turned off, such as the valves in a washing machine. For the leaking, tighten the connections to the timer. For the noise you need a plumber to resolve it, if it bothers you.

A: That loud sound indicates a water hammer from the pipes and then the remainder of the water in the line should come out of the end of that line. But it water is coming out of the body, that could indicate another issue. If this is the case, please reach out to our Orbit support team by phone at (800) 488-6156 or online at support.orbitonline.com.

Q:When I?m Auto mode and I press the Manual button, nothing happens. I think it?s supposed to flash 10 for 10 minutes but I don?t see that. Am I missing something?

A: Your assumptions are correct. When my system is running (in Auto mode) and I press the Manual button, 10 minutes shows on the screen. I am then able to use the arrows to adjust the manual override time limit. The only suggestion I have would be to replace your batteries and try again.
by|May 22, 2022
A: Yes you are right. After you push the manual one time only, change the time to other than 10 min by pressing on the + or - button and see if it works. I am assuming your battery is good. If it does not work, try taking the battery out to reset it that might help. Good luck.

A: When I press the Manual button, it displays 10 and starts a countdown. Try pressing the minus button and see if the display changes. It may take a couple seconds to start.

Answer This Question
A: Generally 15lbs of pressure needs to be provided for any device like this. This unit is only 30 dollars, so try it out,
if it does not work , just return it.
by|Apr 20, 2022
A: You need pressure to make it work correctly.
by|Jul 16, 2022
A: They need 25 psi pressure minimum to operate.
by|Apr 23, 2022
A: The timer is simply a battery operated valve. If water comes out of the spigot then when the valve opens, water will pass through.
by|Apr 9, 2022
A: This timer requires at least 20PSI to work properly.

A: This model has the brass threaded collar that affixes to the spigot, my old one looks identical but the plastic collar cracked and had to change out.
by|Apr 13, 2022
A: I bought this model because it was SO EASY to work. Never fails. I can change the times or starting time with the ease of just switching the dial around. I have twenty five large barrels of raspberries set up with this auto water system. I would recommend it or even buy it again if I needed to.

Q:Can this timer be set to run manually, for a specific period of time? In other words, can you set it to run for 30 minutes, as an example, and it will shut itself off after 30 minutes?

A: This device attaches just like adding another section of hose. It gives the user the option to turn on the water manually for a length of time set by the user.
by|Feb 19, 2021
A: Yes. There is a manual button that will start the water immediately and run for either the length of time set in the program, or you can override that for this one instance. The manual operation does not alter any pre-set program.
by|Feb 14, 2021
A: Yes it does have a manual button you press and it shuts itself off after your set amount of time.
by|Feb 19, 2021
A: Hi There, Yes, you can push the manual button and it will start the timer into a normal cycle. That is the cycle you have preset in the programming.
by|Feb 16, 2021
A: Nope, it is set for 10 minutes. The only option is to turn it off before the 10 minutes is up.

A: Hey Mike, you bet it can ! I do that whenever the plants need a good soaking!
