Q:When using this in conjunction with a dual port Y splitter valve, which one should be installed to the home's spigot first?
by|Jun 6, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Assuming the splitter is being used at the top of the timer, you shouldn't have any issues attaching the splitter to your spigot first as this timer has a swivel connection at the top for easy attachment.

A:  No, you can only set one start time but you can set it to water more than one timer per day with the "How often" section. You can set it to water every 6 or 12 hours with this section.

Q:No water is flowing through this device even when the display says it is. I have a pressure regulator between the timer and my irrigation pipe. Is that correct protocol or is the pressure regulator causing the lack of flow?
            by|May 26, 2023
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  The pressure regulator may be causing a lack of flow because you typically also see some water pressure lost on the outlet of hose timers.

                  Answer This Question

A:  If the body of the timer is leaking, you probably need a replacement. If it leaks at the hose connection, replace the washer.

Q:How long does the battery last? I want to water my fruit trees once a week during the Summer when I am not in Florida. Will the battery last 6 months and if not, does the valve stay open and continue watering the entire time or will it shut off?

                      Answer This Question

A:  Depending what brand of batteries you are using.  Typically, 2-4 months would be the life of batteries.  The valve wouldn’t open when batteries is drained.

A:  The batteries will last way more than six months. I check them occasionally with a volt meter. These need to be taken inside whenever there is a freeze. Most Orbit timers have a 6 year warranty, but the valves can stick open or closed. The other brands have the same problem. I have not figured out why and neither have they. You can claim defective timers, etc directly back to Orbit via phone for a website credit 888/656-4546 or save box and receipt from Home Depot, etc

A:  The batteries should last for an entire watering season with this timer, we recommend changing the batteries between watering seasons.

A:  No, does not work with 0-bar or very low rain barrel pressure like Yardeen models do, works fine with house supplied water pressure.

                                  by|Apr 5, 2024

A:  Yes, it will work with a rain barrel.  This timer incorporates a gate in the flow that opes/closes based on the schedule you program it with.  It will open/close whether there is water pressure or not.
