A:  The system can be installed outdoors but it must be covered to be protected from direct sunlight and freezing or extreme hot temperatures.

A:  Yes you can. There is no adverse affect from the water treated by the NuvoH2O system.

A:  My NuvoH2O system is intentionally NOT hooked up to treat the water used in our outside irrigation system (sprinklers). However, we use indoor water for our houseplants, no problem.

A:  The Nuvo housing does have a 3 position dial setting for off, on or bypass.

A:  Caleb, I've personally never tried using our cartridges in a different housing. However, I would strongly recommend against it. Some housings may look similar in size or appearance, but they can be designed for different purposes or installation points. If that system were to leak with our cartridge in it, then this would not be something that we would warranty. This mismatch could cause potential problems for you, us and the third party now involved. A:  I don't know what a standard 20 filter housing is . . . . however, the Nuvo filter slips in perfectly in the Nuvo supplied housing. I've used other filters in my water system before, and this one is a lot different.

A:  As far as we have been using this product, it seems to have broken up any calcium buildup in our water pipes.

A:  We're quite sure that if it has in the past or recently it probably will its system will take care of any buildup of calcium.

A:  Yes, the NuvoH2O systems have been proved effective at dissolving existing scale build-up.

A:  We do offer our replacement cartridges at Home Depot stores in Northern California and Utah. You can see the store availability on the Home Depot website. You can also purchase on the Home Depot website.

A:  As far as we know we aren't aware of a citrus/orange detection.

A:  The formula contains citric acid, very similar to what is typically used in candy and some natural food preservatives. If there is no problem with either of those, there will be no problem with NuvoH2O.
