A: Thanks for your question! This particular flooring nailer will on fire 16ga L-cleats, T-Cleats, and 15.5ga flooring staples. We do offer an 18ga flooring nailer in our Freeman Brand, model PF18GLCN.

A: Decking Screws & a Drill (Cordless preferably )
Use Deck Screws or Galvanized Screws.
If you choose to nail your deck together , use a framing gun and I would at least use Galvanized Ring Shank Nails
