Answer This Question

A:  Yes,provided you have a good level sub surface No problem .Great nailer, easy to use.

by|Aug 24, 2019

A:  I used it for three-quarter inch tongue and groove oak flooring. If I recall it comes with more than one plate for the bottom so you should be able to use it for five eights.

A:  I’m not sure. It no longer works. It did not hold up over time.

        A:  Yes, Mike

        by|Aug 23, 2019

A:  I used this on 3/4" flooring and had no issues, but assume you are using for decking or some other special application. I think the only concern would be the 2" cleats reaching to the attachment point. Best recommendation would be to get it and give it a try and if it doesn't work for your application it is really easy to take back. If it does work then it will be a huge time saver.

A:  FS are flooring staples “U” shaped and FC are flooring cleats “L or T” shaped. Make sure you use an under-layment either paper or I use #30 felt paper. Make sure you make the boards tight and leave 3/4” gaps along walls.

A:  Full Cleat or staple. Great product just wish it had a storage box. If the have one let me know,it didn't come with one. Otherwise, easy and effectiant.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  FS stands for floor stapler (staples) and FC stands for floor cleat (nails). Depends on flooring. Solid hardwood normally use cleat and Engineering hardwood use staples. My floor's solid red mahogany (3/4" thick) and I used cleats. Thanks

A:  You'll probably want to use a Framing Nailer for 2x4 studs.

                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  This is a wood floor stapler/nailer. You need a framing nailer.

                        A:  Not a floor nailer.

A:  You would need a framing nailer. A:  Not a floor nailer. You need a 8 and 16d nailer for studs or just a hammer and nails.

A:  My 3/4 inch sfl618 NuMax nailer came with 3/4" footplate attached. A 3/8" footplate was in the box as well.

                              by|Feb 12, 2019

A:  The SFL618 does not have a 3/8" Base plate available because it is designed to install 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" Solid Hardwoods, given that it shoots 15.5ga staples and 16ga cleats. If you're looking to install 3/8" (engineered) flooring you'll likely be required to use either 18ga L-cleats or 18ga narrow crown staples. Verify the recommended fastener with flooring manufacturer so you don't void the warranty. Here are two 18ga options for you: PF18GLCN: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Freeman-18-Gauge-L-Cleat-Flooring-Nailer-PF18GLCN/203954526 DPFBC940: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Pneumatic-18-Gauge-4-in-1-Mini-Flooring-Nailer-and-Stapler-DPFBC940/300657003?keyword=dpfbc940&semanticToken=20030+++%3E++++st%3A%7Bdpfbc940%7D%3Ast++cn%3A%7B0%3A0%7D++dpfbc94+%7Bproductkey%7D

A:  The Numax Flooring nailer/stapler will shoot 1-1/2" and 2" long 16ga cleats, or 15.5ga flooring staples. It is designed to be used for Tongue and Groove flooring, as it shoots in at a 45 degree angle. It will install T&G flooring ranging 1/2" to 3/4" thick.

A:  Are you using the same size nails and the same pneumatic pressure settings as you used the first time? If you are using a larger nail and/or attempting to nail a more dense material (oak vs pine) then you will need to increase the PSI to the gun. Hope this helps.

A:  I used the 2" wood floor nails that I had left over from before. When I ran out my wife ran to local lumber yard and bought a box of 1,000 for $125. Came home and told me this and had minor heart attack and called the rental counter at HD and he said that HD's are like $18. Turns out the lumber yards were stainless steel and the HD were not. Since it was for a floor in my den (inside the house!) there was no problem using the $18 ones. I used about a half of this box of 1,000 and no jams and no problem. Save the money and get these.
