A: According to the rules of thumb we used in designing these houses based on information gathered from a number of sources including US Davis Veterinary School, it should be fine. Your pet should be able to enter easily, turn around and lay down and still be 100% inside. The fit should be more close than loose. In cooler weather, a dog will heat the space inside up pretty quickly. If there is too much "air" inside to heat it delays the time where your pet will be comfortable.

Q:What happens when's the "ecoflex" gets wet? Does it warp like particle board? What (if any) is the difference?
by|Feb 8, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Thanks you for your inquiry. one of the best attributes of ecoFLEX is - as a composite material - its moisture absorbancy rate is almost zero. You can place any of our ecoFLEX based products outside and never have to worry about damage from rain, snow, sleet, etc/ like you would if it were made from wood.

A: The house is rated to 180 pounds total weight. The only issue I foresee as a problem will be enough room for them to all lay down comfortably at the same time. You might have them lay down together an then measure the area that they take up and compare to the floor dimensions of the Jumbo..

Q:Could i add a Heater in side the dog hose ? If the House MATERIAL ok with the heat?
by|Jul 29, 2016

Answer This Question
A: It is OK as long as the temperature of the cover on the heater does not exceed 135 degrees. Above that level not only is there potential of damage to the dog house but it may also harm your pet if they come in contact with the cover.

A: The Eco Concepts XL Rustic Lodge Dog House measurements are: Depth (in.) 32.3"; Width (in.) 32.3" and Height 29.5 inches.

A: The dimensions are as follows :
Exterior: Side-to-Side: 42.5"; Front-to-Back: 32.5"; Height at Front: 29.5"
Interior: Side-to-Side: 37.2"; Front-to-Back: 23.3"; Height at Front: 25.2"
Recommended Weight: Up to 140 Pounds
If this seems too small, our Jumbo version might be the answer:
Exterior: Side-to-Side: 46.4"; Front-to-Back: 39.0"; Height at Front: 37.6"
Interior: Side-to-Side: 41.5"; Front-to-Back: 29.7"; Height at Front: 33.1"
Recommended Weight: Up to 200 Pounds
I know it can handle 200 pounds as I have sat on the roof and I am close to 200 pounds.
I hope this helps in your evaluation.

A: Thanks for your inquiry. The simple, honest and direct answer is no. Regardless of the claims made by anyone producing a decorative crate like this, the only material that is chew proof is metal/wire. The stainless steel spindles we use in the door and sides is chew proof but the surrou8nding material, while quite durable is not chew proof. It may be worth the effort to try and determine why your pet is chewing and try to reverse that behavior. In some cases, your poet may be one that simply does not want to be confined. Other possible issues can be boredom, stimulus from outside the crate, etc. Most behaviors can be reversed with the help of a registered trainer.

A: The Eco Concepts Jumbo size Rustic Lodge Dog House has a level of insulation provided by the wall structure which traps dead air in-between the inner and outer walls. In temps in the 20's 0r 30's, a dog will heat the inside up in no time as long as the houses is not over sized. Your pet's body heat will take car of this, Between 0 and 20, it depends on the location of the house and if it is protected from the wind, dampness, etc.
