A: Hello. While we aren't sure if this is a replacement for "sharkbite" tape, we can confirm that it would be suitable for underground use. Note that the self-fusing aspect of the tape means that it will need to be wrapped around the hose to stick to itself, it will not just stick to the hose on its own.
