    Q:Will these wheels fit around a 2" x 4"?
    by|Jul 19, 2023

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Paul, These wheels are designed to be installed on 2" thick wood (the actual size of 2" wood is 1.5"). But in the event of creating a ramp kit, 2" x 4" boards are not recommended as they won't be strong enough to keep their straight shape, which is important to allow the kayak or canoe to roll smoothly. Thanks for asking!

Q:I recently purchased the SD1200 boat ramp kit. However, I need to extend the length from 16ft to 24ft. This means I need ONE more set of the SD1200 wheels. I do not need 4 sets as that would be a waste of money. Is there any way to purchase one set?

A:  Hello Barry, Right now, we only offer these wheels in box of 8. Your demand will lead us to consider the possibility of creating a smaller set. For now, I invite you to contact us by email at info@multinautic.com to see if someone can help you with this unusual request. In the meantime, note that a longer ramp than the one we propose will need support underneath to ensure that it is straight. Thank you for taking the time to write us.

Q:Can I quadruple this and use it to pull up my 16ft pontoon boat?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Yes we've seen many customers doing that. Just make sure to have supports underneath the ramp the keep a straight shape all the way. You will also need steel hardware to ensure the sturdiness of the assembly. You can also consider building this ramp using the double rollers model 34111. Thanks for asking!

Q:I need rollers for the end of a floating dock ramp. It is made of (3) 2x12's and then covered with 5/4 decking. These would be perfect for end rollers so that the ramp can roll as the floating dock moves up and down with the tide. How can I purchase just 2 rollers?

A:  Hello Doug, These wheels are only sold 8/pack. To do the installation that you have in mind, wheels with bearing systems are recommended. If you proceed with this installation, it's really important to install guiding rails for the wheels on the floating dock section. Good luck with your project!

A:  they are sturdy units but I feel that the more you have will be beneficial by distributing the weight evenly. The pin that runs through the hub would be the first to fail in salt water conditions, but nothing is for ever. If it were stainless steel throughout ,that would be something! best of luck

A:  I would say no...I have an 12 foot aluminum boat which is very light in weight. The wheels are of a plastic material or resin and roll very easily. In my opinion they will work for you.
