Q:I’m trying to find a product to clean my porcelain floor tile in my kitchen. It’s a very light beige color. Not worried about grout cleaning or anything just that something I could use with my spin mop ( can’t get on my hands and knees anymore) that will keep this porcelain tile as lovey as it is now. Does this stuff work on porcelain floor tile? Thanks a bunch for an answer that can help me out here

Answer This Question

A:  I use it on my ceramic and travertine floors and have never had an issue with the product. I've been using it for more than two years.

A:  I bought this product to clean my marble, marble I believe is more delicate to clean and it does a great job. My marble polishing company was the one that recommended this product. I had porcelain floors at my old house and one thing that I learned was not to use soap in the clear water that I used to clean it. But I imagine this product would probably work well on porcelain.

A:  We use it one porcelain (light beige), granite (black and various shades) and grout. It is a good product. The back of the bottle has dilution recommendations depending on how dirty your floor it. Pricing is reasonable since the product work highly diluted. It does recommend (for natural stone) wiping off with a wet (water only) mop after use if it hazes. On the kitchen granite it is sometimes needed.

A:  This is a very good cleaner.

      by|May 5, 2023

A:  This product is not made for porcelain tile. It does its best work on natural stone like granite, slate and marble. It also requires a through rinsing with copious amounts of hot water after application. I own a professional cleaning company and recommend that you get a quality steam cleaner from a brand name appliance manufacturer and use it regularly with the cleaning agent made for it. It may take a couple of applications, but in a while you should find that your tile will look almost like new without bending, scrubbing or rinsing.

Q:It says "concentrate" does that mean it needs to be mixed to use? Not very practical for a daily cleaner. Does it come in a spray that is ready-to-use?

          Answer This Question

A:  It is a concentrate. It gets mixed with warm water then moped on, no rinse. Works great I have been using for years

A:  No spray bottle. Easy to follow instructions on back label. I use this weekly on slate stone floor

            by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes- but so what you use a bucket for cleaning stone floors. We use it for marble

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  I did not mix it and I cannot remember if the label said to or did it say I could use it full strength. Using full strength did not damage my surface.

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  This cleaner is the one several of our granite installers used. If you look at the back of the bottle it has dilution recommendations depending on the material and cleanliness. I keep it very dilute for kitchen counters so it does not streak. If you use higher concentrations you need to wipe it off with a separate cloth otherwise it can leave a haze. It is a bargain compared to standard concentration spray bottle since I use another brand's empty spray bottle (or by a cheap reusable Home Depot spray bottle) and the concentrate lasts a long time. The sealer is also frequently used by installers (carefully test first and follow instructions).

                  Answer This Question

A:  I'm not sure about slate, but it is specifically designed to clean tile and stone before you apply sealant. I used this on our porcelain tile bathroom floor before I applied the sealer by the same company.

                    Answer This Question

A:  It should remove most soap and hard water stains depending on the amount of build up of those stains. Like any cleaner, you should carefully review the manufacturer's use and caution recommendations to avoid damage to the underlying surface finish.

A:  It will remove the soap, but the hard water stains the time needs to be sealed.

A:  This is a great product for daily gentle cleaning of marble, travertine and other types of natural stone floors. I have never used it to clean any area that would have soap scum or hard water stains but I don't think it would be very effective. I use this because it leaves floors clean without risk of damage to my tile.

A:  It probably will work, but I wouldn't waste money on this to clear non-porous surfaces. Glass and metal can be cleaned with any typical cleaner since they are not porous. Ceramic tile and stone are porous surfaces and have to be cleaned with special cleaners.

A:  I would be somewhat nervous about using on metal as metal is not one of the items it lists to use on. There may be some corrosive action to metal.

A:  I used this product in a shower enclosure of stone tile and sanded grout. It was surprisingly effective at removing mold and did not noticeably effect the grout color. I now use it as a regular cleaning agent.

A:  Most likely not. I think it would seal it in. Use a mold remover like Tilex.

                                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  The product can be used on travertine to remove dirt and stains. It does not say anything specifically about mold removal. I assume that, following the instructions, it could also be used to remove mold. You may want to check out other household cleaners to see if there is a product specifically designed for mold removal. Clorox bleach is often used on some surfaces.

A:  I use it to clean my marble floors, even in the showers. It was recommended by the marble installer and keeps the floor and grout clean. I don't know about mold or mildew. I have used a qtip dipped in bleach in the past for mildew but with special attention not to get it on the marble.

A:  I doubt it. It seems to be a general cleaner, good for soap scum and hard water build up. I use it because a tile pro recommended it. Doesn’t harm glaze or grout.

A:  I never tried anywhere there was mold but the chemical compound does not appear to be real effective at removing mold. Saying that if I was going to attempt to use for mold I would use at a slightly stronger strength.

A:  Although I see nothing stating it cannot and the tile is similar to bath tile I would be somewhat conservative if it was me because I am not sure how the chemicals would interact with the pool filter and the stabilizer tablets or salt solution if it is salt pool.
