A: The 49-56-7250 Milwaukee® 3/8" Quick-Change Arbor uses a set screw that can be removed with a 1/8" hex wrench.
A: I didn't use a hex as it is designed to work without. It's without thought because the holder is spring loaded. Hope this helps.
A: Should say in the parts book
A: Merlin - i hope you havent been waiting since 2013 for this answer, I bought mine in 2018 and it uses a 4mm allen wrench. Hope you can finally finish your project now.
A: @milwaukee, the set screw is so tight, I can't budge it to remove the pilot bit. Suggestions? And, can I use a 1/16" pilot bit. I need to cut the plugs nearly in 1/2, but the bit is too large, so I need to remove it or replace it with a much smaller bit. Sent note to Milwaukee tech support a week or more ago.
A: One doesn't need to touch the set screw. This is a push-pull arbor with an internal bearing and spring. Removing the set screw risks having the spring pop out- happened to me.
A: 3"
A: Not really. The length of the drill bit and cutting blade makes the overall dimention of the drill plus bit to big to work in most small areas.
A: No. The arbor is designed to be used with a hole saw.
A: no, this is an arbor for hole saws
A: Probably not the right tool for the job. This is used for cutting holes with hole saws.
A: No. It is for drilling large wholes
A: This product was not specifically designed for use in tight spaces. We would suggest the offset adapter (48-32-2100) instead.
A: Gigi, this is a good question. This tool is made for the larger hole saw blades like over 1-in. in diameter. For what you are asking this tool would not be the best choice, however there are a number of small drill bits available for home projects like hanging Mini Blinds, at your local Home Depot store. If you go to the "tool Corral" you will find any of the associates would be more than happy to assist you in finding the proper size drill bit to fit your needs. I hope this helps you out. eyedaddy
A: No more than a regular bit. It depends on the exact hole you're trying to access. Usually the size of the drill itself is what's difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. Milwaukee makes the M12 3/8' cordless right-angle drill for getting into tight spaces which is what would make your job easier. But it's not cheap at $129.00
A: I don't understand "getting into tight areas." The hole saw arbor adds almost 4" to the length of your drill motor. I'm not sure what you are trying to do where you'd use a hole saw for mini-blinds so there's not much I can add, other than it's a very good arbor.
A: your question came up for a hole saw. They aren't great for corners or tightt places, but you usually wouldn't need a hole saw to hang mini blinds. not wure what you are doing? but no, i don't think ia hole saw will work for you.
