A: Hi! Our Gaudi Hex Black is not hard to keep clean and like all of our products, is rather easy to maintain. Aside from soap and water, we also recommend using a neutral, non-acidic cleaner that is safe for everyday cleaning. A product that would fit into this category would be the Custom Building Products Grout and Tile Cleaner, which can found at the following link https://thd.co/2TMZvKx. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

Answer This Question
A: Hi! We advise following the manufacturer instructions for your preferred adhesive as different types of adhesives each have different requirements. Home Depot always recommends Custom Building Products installation materials. The most versatile adhesive is their Versabond Fortified Thinset Mortar http://thd.co/29Po1DR which can be spread up to 1/4 inch thick. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

A: Hi, Elena! It is possible to use our Gaudi Hex White for ceiling installations as long as the proper precautions are taken. We recommend using a cementboard backing and ensure the ceiling framing is sturdy enough to prevent any flexing. We advise addressing your safety concerns with a licensed contractor for this kind of installation. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

A: I would think so as each tile is not that heavy - not more than a regular tile. People are installing those large profile tiles (2 x 3) on the walls in showers that I see in pictures on the internet.
These tiles are roughly 8-3/4" by 10" wide

A: Hi, Floyd! We currently do not offer any trim pieces that would directly coordinate with our Gaudi Hex White. In these cases, we recommend using a Schluter trim. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.
by|Jun 21, 2019
A: We used Schluter for the trim. But we also trimmed all the tiles for our application so that it became a rectangle.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, this tile is suitable for shower wall or floor use.

A: Hi Sarah,
Yes, our Gaudi Hex White would be great on a shower wall! This tile has a glazed, medium sheen finish that will not absorb water through the glaze.
If you would like to determine if either of these tiles are right for you, we offer samples! Please be aware that samples come adhered to 6”x6” sample cards which offer a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole pattern. To be able to see the whole pattern, we recommend ordering one case. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity they were sold (in this situation, a case).

Q:ADA Slip Resistance??? I ordered this in part because the specifications say it meets ADA requirements, but then I see a Merola Customer Care answer to another question saying it does NOT meet ADA requirements for slip resistance. Confusing. Can this be clarified, as I was planning to use it for a bathroom for my mom. Thank you!

A: Hi Thegratefulgardener,
After reviewing the data for our Gaudi Hex White, this looks like this is an error on our part. Our Gaudi Hex White is not ADA Slip Resistance compliant as it does not have a high enough C.O.F. (Coefficient of Friction) rating. We have gone ahead and updated this information so that accurate data is represented on this page. We apologize for any inconvenience that this might have caused you, and greatly appreciate that you brought this to our attention. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity they were sold.
After looking at our current hex tiles, we have two suggestions that might suit your needs. Our two suggestions would be our Metro Super Hex Matte White https://thd.co/2vqAFFk and our Gotham Super Hex Antique White https://thd.co/2AyfBT6. Both of these mosaics have C.O.F. values of 0.6 to 0.79, which makes them compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines for slip resistance. The main difference between these two mosaics is that Metro Super Hex has a matte glazed finish, while Gotham Super Hex has an unglazed finish. If you plan on using Gotham Super Hex in a shower, we would suggest sealing the tile.
If you would like to determine if these mosaics are right for you, we offer samples! Please be aware that samples come adhered to 6”x6” sample cards which offer a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole pattern. To be able to see the whole pattern, we recommend ordering one case. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile.
