Answer This Question
A: It is supposed to. I don’t recommend this particular unit.

A: An alarm will sound if the temperature drops below the minimum temperature you have set for the BARBEQUE (grill) or if the temperature goes over the maximum temperature you have set.
There is no minimum temperature for the FOOD, only a maximum.

Answer This Question
A: I always turn on the RECEIVER first and leave it on for 15-20 seconds before turning on the TRANSMITTER.

A: You "sync" the the pair by turning the (probeless) receiving unit on first, and then turning on the measuring unit. You can resync by pressing the resync button on the receiver for 2 seconds
The nice feature of this unit (compared with prior models) is that it will set off an audible alarm if you lose sync.

A: There is a written procedure in the instructions for syncing the transmitter with the receiver using the RESYNC buttons on the devices. You should also turn on the RECEIVER first since this unit initiates the synchronization process.

Answer This Question
A: It does not lower, just keep increasing the temp and it cycles through quickly to the desired temp. Simple.

A: unfortunately, the only way to set a lower temperature is to hold the button (for 10 units-at-a-time change) and increase the temp until it "rolls over" from max temp/time.

A: HHH indicates that the BBQ temperature has exceeded 572F. You may have the probe pushed through the meat so that it is in contact with the grill or fire.
If not, I would check to insure that the probe is inserted all the way into the transmitter's BBQ port and that the wire is routed so that it does not contact any part of the heated surface.

A: Check to be the probe is plugged in to the base all the wat

A: I think if it is showing HHH it is beyond the temperature range ( high) of the probe. The maximum listed for the probe is 550F, I believe.

A: There is a little tab at the bottom near the battery case hinge. Pry it up (I had to use a butter knife). The battery case cover should pop right open.

Q:How long are the temperature probes? If 3ft is in the box can longer (6ft) ones work also made by Maverick?
by|Jul 16, 2015

Answer This Question
A: Longer ones might work, but I would suggest a test run using one each to validate temperature tracking over a range of temperatures. Also check that the longer probes are rated for use up to 572 degrees F.
by|Apr 27, 2019
A: I don't see why they wouldn't since they're both made by Maverick.

A: Maverick sells other probes that work with the Model HD-377. They don't give the lengths on their website. You would have to contact them. Website: maverickhousewares.com
