A:  Hello Bob and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen 2-Handle Replacement Cartridge for MOEN Roman Tub Faucets is not compatible with a Moen two handle sink faucet. The Moen 6410BN faucet currently uses the Moen 1234 cartridge, older Moen two handle sink faucets used the Moen 1224 cartridge. A:  Moen 179120 Cartridge Retainer Removal Tool for 2-Handle Faucet in Chrome is made to remove them. I'm not sure if my valve was too tight of a fit or what the issue was, but the tool cut through the raised portion of the notches on my cartridges and I was unable to get them out. Moen instructions for removing the cartridges say to use the tool or needle nose pliers (opening the pliers and putting the two sides into the notches). Calling Moen with questions is always helpful in my opinion. They'll know what questions to answer even when you don't know what to ask.

A:  Use the same cartridge for both hot and cold

A:  Yes it will. Once you seat it, you can turn it to the location you need to have it in the off position and then turn in the proper direction for on. With a little testing you will have it spot on.
