Q:Does this include a floor or goes on top of the soil? I want to use on my deck

Answer This Question

A:  No floor or bottom just sides

by|Aug 2, 2020

A:  There is not bottom. If you are placing it somewhere other than dirt, you will want to place a liner of some kind that extend up around the edges.

by|Aug 3, 2020

A:  Goes on top of soil. HD has had other items that can be used on your deck

    by|Aug 3, 2020

A:  no floor, doubt it would do well on our deck unless it is VERY well supported. The box will hold several bags of soil. i have mine stacked two high as I am a senior and just love them. I have 18 double boxes that is my garden stacked that is how much i enjoy them!

Q:can i stack these 3 high without dirt for tortoise enclosure

    Answer This Question

A:  These are only designed to have two stacked. We do not recommend that three be stacked because it would be unstable and there are no clips that are long enough for it.

    by|Jun 24, 2020

A:  I have them stacked 2 high with dirt for great garden beds, can't see why you couldn't stack them 3 high without dirt for the tortoise. Hubby uses a flat metal square piece to attach them together in the middle of all 4 sides (buy separate), you might think of doing that too just for support

      by|Jun 24, 2020

A:  These are designed and come with the hardware to stack 2 high. The bottom one goes upside down and the top one goes right side up, so they join bottom to bottom. If you stacked it 3 high you would need to come up with your own way to attach the 3rd one. Construction adhesive would work fine but would be permanent.

A:  California is nuts and almost everything falls under Prop 65

A:  California recently passed a law that required manufacturers to place warnings on any product that may contain any chemical known to cause cancer. Our official statement reads: CA PROP. 65 WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Nickel, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. Trace amounts of nickel may be present in the metal hardware. There is nothing in the plastic. Rest assured, it's a very small amount (if any) and there are no known cases of anyone ever getting cancer related to the use of any of our products.

A:  I stacked 3 of them but I had to support them with a post on the outside of each side to keep them from sliding around. When I added more dirt, that helped.

A:  They are very durable and will not come apart at the corners. There's clips that hold them together. I bought two sets two years ago and stacked them one on top of the other. They look the same as they did when I bought them. I would recommend for your situation.

A:  i've had this cold frame a couple of years and yes it is very sturdy we remove the cover after danger of frost has passed and store the cover indoors while not using it. we have enjoyed two seasons with it and are not seeing any deterioration yet

A:  It is constructed of UV-protected high-density polyethyene (HDPE) which is a very strong plastic. Although we have not tested these in a school environment, I think you will be happy with the quality. We have several customers that use them as sand boxes for kids and have not seen any issues.

A:  I have had 10 of these in my garden for about 3 years. They slide together up and down easily, but will not come apart by accident. The plastic is hollow and they are light. They are durable, but I do not kneel or step on them or they will bend or dent. They are not made tough enough to walk on.

A:  It depends on what you are planting. It is best to consult your garden center for the best soil options in your area.

A:  I used Garden Soil and it's working well. Bear in mind that the directions say to mix the garden soil with topsoil, but of course I didn't read the directions and have had no issues. Bed has been in two years now. Miracle Grow carries a raised bed soil but I have never seen it. You can use any top soil but you may want to have it tested for the pH level and you'll want to add compost or manure (you can get bagged cow manure) to improve the nutrients for the plants to grow.

A:  We have not tested the enclosure against deer or other animals so cannot say with certainty. It would definitely discourage them, likely enough for them to look elsewhere.

A:  Yes - I bought two 3-packs a couple of years ago and stacked them 2-high. I ordered extra plastic connectors from the manufacturer. However, I ended up using metal "L" connectors and screws to hold the units together instead. I have heard complaints from others about the plastic connectors breaking.
