Every model sink has unique cutout dimensions that are required, and this is due to the length, width, and corner radius. Because of this, each sink has a unique cutout that is not shared by other model sinks so it will require a unique cutout. Our sinks are best suited for solid surface counter top materials like granite, soapstone, marble, or concrete. Not well suited for laminate or tile counters, which have too many weak points along seams and grout lines to support the weight of the sink. A:  I would not recommend an under mount sink for laminate or thinscape countertops.

A:  First, you didn't say what the countertop is made of. The Top Mount sink probably has a 1/8 -1/4 gap between it and the countertop, so unless you take out the Sink, you don't have the actual dimensions of the opening you need to fill. Assuming a solid surface countertop, you need to measure the cutout size and go up to the next largest size . The the countertop will be cut back to the edge of the undermount sink. If the countertop is formica, you cannot use an under-mount as the exposed edge of the countertop is particle board and not happy about getting wet. Most solid surface work needs to be done by a professional to safely mount the sink and match the edge.
