Answer This Question
A: Hi Bill,
Thanks for your inquiry.
The mounting ring lays flat on the counter - no installation is needed. The Glass Vessel sink will rest right on top of the Mounting Ring and will not rest directly onto the counter top. We do not recommend placing the sink directly onto the counter.

Q:the PU10 and PU100 listed here require a 1.75 drain opening, yet another site says it requires a 1.5 inch opening. the spec drawings show a 1.5 inch width. Will either of these products fit into a 1.5 inch opening?

A: Hello Darryl,
Thank you for your inquiry. The difference in those two model numbers is the MR-10ORB is the mounting ring, in the first model the PU-10 that is only the drain.
Thank you,

A: Hi Psych,
Thank you for your email.
The Mounting Ring would not be needed if you have a recessed or semi-recessed sink. The mounting ring would be used for top mounted vessel sinks.
The pop-up drain is available without the mounting ring: PU-10SN
Thanks.

A: That ring is suppose to fit between sink and vanity top to add some stability.

A: If you use the pop up in a sink with an overflow hole at the top of the sink, then water cant drain from the overflow and it could fill up and become rancid and smelly.

Answer This Question
A: Dear Kyra, thank you for your question. The PU-10 pop-up drain is the correct non-overflow drain you will need to install with a glass vessel sink. If you are not using a Kraus glass vessel sink please make sure the sink you are using has a 1 and 3/4 inch drain opening to accommodate the drain.
